Six hungry cyclists, at the end of a hard day of climbing needed a place within a short walk from our hotel. This was a golden find. No menu, set price, lotsa wine, bread and more than we could comfortably eat. First plate: Sardines e pasta, oysters on the half-shell, mussels, fish croquets, cod buñuelos, fried battered fish, shrimp, bonito, chipirones (baby squid) and octopus. Not a choice thereof, but ALL of it! Second plate: A serving of fish risotto, spaghetti with clams and fish ravioli for each of us. Third plate: a choice of Calamari Romana, Sea Bass, Swordfish or prawns. By this time, none of us really wanted any more. Dessert, copitas and the bill: €25 apiece which was entirely reasonable, considering we each had eaten at least two full meals.

Another exclusive fish restaurant in Catania but with a difference. It is one of the restaurants where you pay a fixed price (in this case 25 Euro), and you have all included food drinks. It is not as rich as some other restaurants, but it is a good balance between, a crave for good abundant food and gluttony and waste. Antipasti well based with some fresh raw seafood the could have gone to less oily options when they come to the cooked antipasti. Pasta was great especially the salmon risotto and the nero di seppia (pasta with cuttlefish ink). The main course was by order. The desert was a bit limited as was the final liquor limited to one shot. On the whole it was worth it and strongly recommended.

For 25 euros you will enjoy a fixed menu entirely based on fish. Antipasti are fixed, while you have some choice on the Pasta and main dish. Drinks (house wine, soft drinks and water), coffee and small dessert are included in the price.
