Nice dinner outside on the sidewalk. We two were looking for dinner after having just arrived in Catania. After walking around a bit, we found this restaurant right outside our hotel. Table was open on the sidewalk, so we sat down. FOOD: 3.5 Penne all Arrabbiata Gnocco al Pistacchio Caprese WINE: 4.0. Only wines were the house red and the house white, both from the local village of Corleone. Very nice. SERVICE: 4.5.... View all feedback.
What juddermann doesn't like about Cantina Manganelli:
We were hungry and not much was open on a Sunday just after 5:30pm. Stopped here for dinner. Bolognese was quite nice, and also had the mixed grill, which seemed a little undercooked. My wife had a pizza which she said was just ok. View all feedback.
I fell upon Cantina Manganelli accompanied by two rolling suitcases walking from Croceferi street. The all inclusive 14 euro menu appealed, sustaining me well into my flight back to Malta. A late lunch on my final day. The second course did not allow for Vegetarian/Vegan diners, and what especially impressed me was that one of the waiters, Tanino, negotiated for me to have an alternate choice from the main menu options. Such I was offered Caprese salad. In my own experience this level of flexibility eludes most restaurants and I was astonished at the immediacy of this option being offered. Acknowledged a Vegan diner would have chosen another option. Each dish was generous, cooked superbly and presented well. Cantina Manganelli is a family establishment as shared by the grand son Guiseppe to whom I paid my bill. A delightful find. Thank you.
The horse meat they serve is the best meat I ever ate travelling around Europe and eastern Europe. The staff is friendly and ready to help with some advice about visiting the city and the restaurant itself is cozy and pleasant to spend time with. You can see your meat being grilled in front of you.

Sidewalk dining on busy street was fun. Not fancy, just comfortable. Other patrons were Italian families.
Bad Granite, watered and prepared industrially. A shame to spoil the fame of the Sicilian granita so!
Informal place in Piazza Manganelli. The Lottomatic service is efficient and fast.
