Nice little grocery store. Doesn't have a ton of items to choose from but it's nice and new. I do think the tip prompt for the grocery store staff is super tacky. View all feedback.
What Kia Hamm (the happy hamm) doesn't like about Castro Valley Natural Grocery:
It was ok. Overpriced items that I can get for less someplace else. There were a few specialty items/sections, and a few good items on sale. The best thing was the camera man pictured? View all feedback.
A mixed experience. The bad: Certain sections have painful lighting. The low hanging, ultra bright, bare LED light tubes gave me a bad headache and blurred vision in under 5 minutes. At least hang those ugly lights up higher so I can try to shield my eyes from them. Those lights drove me out before I could finish shopping. The after image they left on my retinas lasted a few minutes after I left the store. The good: The cheese staff person was helpful, knowledgeable, and nice. There was natural light and non-obnoxious lighting near the cheese. They stock Clover cow milk and Meyenberg goat milk.

This is a higher end grocery store with a great selection of products and very fresh produce.

Really a delightful surprise when I walked into the marketplace. They had an impressive bottle selection and some good grab-and-go options. The staff were all amazingly friendly and patient. I'm super indecisive, and sometimes that leads folks to wonder why I'm wandering the store so erratically. I appreciate folks gave me my space. I do wish they perhaps had some more bottled or canned coffee options, but that is really unique to my context as a visitor needing wake-up and go coffee since I'm on the go.
