We stumbled into this restaurant as it looked new and the menu looked interesting. We had to accommodate a range of tastes and it fitted the bill. We ate there because the restaurant is called a churrasqueira, which translates as grill). now, if they have ever been in lisbon or another city big city in portugal and visited a churrasqueira then they will know that these are traditional grills. the specialized and mostly just selling -bored chicken . this is something of a national dish and is absolutely wonderful witness carefully marinated and slowly grilled, in which is served with rice and patatas fritas. as the only churrasqueira in altura we went there and ordered the huh and. it was bad. yes, it was grilled and yes, it was marinated, but in garlic and then covered in a mixed sweetheart. It was just bad and really nothing like Portuguese churrasqueira frango. I've been very devastating all the days and I've been taking it. on the plus side the waitress was very friendly and the streaks on the road outside the terrace on which we sat were entertaining. it would not eat again.

Great new restaurant in Altura! Excellent food, great service and very reasonably priced. Possibly the best fish I had whilst in Portugal.
We ate at this charming restaurant just before leaving Altura, wish we had found it sooner! The owner was charming, the food excellent and good value for money. Fresh fish is usually very good in this part of Portugal, but the sea bass here was...possibly the best fish I had while in the area. Hope to return.
