The building if decorated and clean could be wonderful , between cobwebs and old fashioned decor in the extreme , it’s a shame , a missed opportunity for something great .We had antipasti , thank god we didn’t order and pay for anything else . BEST LOCAL FOOD EVER!!! Set in an old aristocratic house, historically restored....eclectic, cool, fun! (IGNORE ANY NEGATIVE REVIEWS) We got here at 8:30, on a Sunday, and there were great people still rolling in at 10! We’re from California, we were referred to this Restaurant, which is a great way to find great restaurants...we have traveled all over southern Italy… This is the most excellent “typical” food, Buonissimo Wine selection for reasonable price, the owner Salvatore, doubles as an international linguist and is amazing chef!!! He comes out often to speak with you, serve you, making the experience very delightful and so accommodating!!! Excellent service, all bases covered, and staffed very well. You Can Not have a bad meal here!!! Remember, local, typical is usually some of the best food because they specialize in what’s typical.
My husband and I had an amazing dinner at Retro. We were greated by a very friendly waitress and then joined by the owner who was very attentive and explained to us about the dishes. The ambience is very characteristic and the food is homemade at its best. The prices are very good. We will certainly come back again when on holiday in the area.
We stumbled on this place by chance basically old stables converted into a restaurant. Salvatore welcomed us as if he was welcoming us into his home. That night we had the meal of a lifetime. He kept bringing us local Puglian food to try as we hadn't had a lot of it. The wine was perfectly paired and everything sent us to heaven. We loved it so much we came back 2 more times after that. An absolute golden find. If we were rich we'd fly back just to eat at his restaurant again. It is THAT good. One of the most incredible highlights of our time in Italy.
Ristorante in una posizione molto piacevole che offre piatti a base di carne. ottimi piatti, antipasti, carne alla griglia. Ottimo dessert. buon rapporto qualità prezzo
