We got Sunday carvery wh... read more If I could give the food 11 out of 10 I would. Tasty, good size portion carvery and reasonably priced. Service is the biggest let down. We got Sunday carvery which was outstanding. The hot food was delicious. The service at the till and the waiting staff was terrible. Moody, complaining about each other nastily, not interested and we were left wait for desert nearly an hour. When trying to make eye contact with the server, she kept avoiding us. In fact she actually got a shovel brush and disappeared at one point. All we wanted was a selection of Ice Cream and a Cheesecake.

No potato , gr... read more I will not be eating here again. Nothing on the menu was marked as gluten free. So I played it safe. I ordered the beef with just the vegetables. No potato , gravy , stuffing or Yorkshire pudding. This resulted in the person taking my order pulling a disapproving face. I wasn’t asking her to eat it. It was what I asked for because I was going to eat it. She didn’t know if the gravy was gluten free. What arrived out was barley edible. Two shrivelled slices of beef clearly reheated from the day before. And the veg was dry. And like warm. I know not having gravy means there is little you can do but this was bad. No effort was made at all. When the 3/4 full plate was removed for the bat in front of me I asked could I have a coffee and a jelly and ice cream. She didn’t answer me. So I wondered what would happen next. The coffee arrived. It was good coffee. But it took nearly 15 minutes for the jelly and ice cream to arrive by which time it was melted. So no , I will not be eating there again.

The server at the pub greeted us warmly, recommended the specials of the day, and promptly brought our drinks and food. It was a satisfying meal after a tiring day of travel with jet lag and lack of sleep. The food consisted of typical pub dishes such as meat, potatoes, and vegetables, which filled and satisfied us. We appreciated the fast service.

Staff... read more Stopped in for breakfast while working in the area. Very nice, comfortable and warm seating area. Spotless clean and well maintained bar/restaurant area. Staff were pleasant with just a nod required to get service. Food was tasty and well presented, with good value for money. Would be happy to recommend and would use again.
