We got Sunday carvery wh... read more If I could give the food 11 out of 10 I would. Tasty, good size portion carvery and reasonably priced. Service is the biggest let down. We got Sunday carvery which was outstanding. The hot food was delicious. The service at the till and the waiting staff was terrible. Moody, complaining about each other nastily, not interested and we were left wait for desert nearly an hour. When trying to make eye contact with the server, she kept avoiding us. In fact she actually got a shovel brush and disappeared at one point. All we wanted was a selection of Ice Cream and a Cheesecake.

Anyw... read more I met some family here a couple of days ago. They chose it so I turned up and didn’t realise that they would be eating, expecting just to meet for a drink. Anyway they ordered their food, a couple of beef dinners and some chicken and chips for the kids. So I asked for the menu and decided on the chicken supreme. It came very quickly and was the kind of food that I get when I am in an Eastern European canteen for 4 euros. The chicken was really over cooked and stringy and yet the veg was undercooked and hard. The place was busy, which is a great sign, but nobody seemed to complain. I didn’t complain either as I was with family, but the meal although edible was pretty tasteless. The staff were great and professional but I could not recommend the canteen style food for 12 euros ! Maybe I’m being too fussy ?

The owner couldn't have been more welcoming made us sandwiches which were not even on the menu. Food was excellent, shame we didn't have time to stay longer but had to be on our way. If you are passing do call in.

A friend who stayed overnight mentioned that the rooms are beautiful and cozy.
