Luttrellstown Castle
4.4 / 5 (126 reviews)

Description

Luttrellstown Castle offers a charming setting for afternoon tea, with pleasant staff and ambiance. However, some customers were disappointed with the lack of variety in sandwiches and sweets, as well as the service quality. The castle itself is stunning, providing a fairytale experience for guests to explore. While some found the food and service lacking, others enjoyed the experience overall. A few changes to enhance the menu and service could make this a top-tier destination for afternoon tea enthusiasts seeking a unique and elegant setting.

Repeat customers however little disappointed. Tea bags in teapot but served with strainer. No decoration for Valentines Day. Still lovely location, ambience staff.

I had a delightful experience visiting Luttrellstown Castle for afternoon tea. The dining room was elegant, adorned with stunning Dutch oil paintings, and offered a breathtaking view. The food was exquisite, and the staff accommodated my wheat intolerance with care. The service was top-notch, and we were provided with plenty of tea and coffee. We also had the opportunity to take a tour of the castle, where we marveled at the hidden door in the library and explored the rooms once owned by the Guinness family.

To start, the eircode is for the clubhouse, so look on Maps specifically for the Castle Resort. Overall, we had a decent experience, although we felt the food was not up to par compared to other afternoon tea options. The scones were definitely a standout, but the chocolate loaves were not as impressive. The gluten-free bread for sandwiches was average, but the pastries were tasty and the gluten-free scones were fantastic. Be sure to stay for a tour of the castle after your meal, as it was fascinating to learn about the history and see some of the rooms.
