Many people in the area of Castelraimondo/Matelica would point to this restaurant as the best of the area, and it definitely deserves this opinion. This is the Italian culinary experience that is written about. Castel Sant'Angelo is tucked away, far from the madding crowd in an old (mediaeval? castle. The food prepared by the proprietaria was absolutely divine and lots of it; course after course. I think we embarrassed ourselves because we could not get through it all If you're in a hurry, buy a pizza somewhere else. This place deserves spending some time at to fully appreciate the food and wine This is a must visit place on your trip to Italy

It offers typical recipes from the cuisine of Marche, prepared with excellent local ingredients and great care. The location is also way up in the hills, with an outstanding view on the surrounding countryside at sunset.
There is only one drawback to this otherwise excellent restaurant it does not allow even the best behaved dogs inside. So five of us dog ate outside on a terrace with superb vies of the countryside. First, there was a large and excellent range of starters that just kept on arriving. All are prepared by the owner/family, using largely their own produce, including organic cereals, vegetables and poultry. Every dish was delightful. The house wine was also good. The service too was excellent. It's an excel place to dine in a restaurant that is a carefully modernised, medieval, stone buildings. It's just a pity about not admitting a dog!
Fabulous food in a gorgeous rural setting. Very pretty restaurant. Everything is homemade and utterly delicious. Lovely family. Can highly recommend this place.
Wonderful Country House, a little jewel immersed in the hills in this gentle part of Marche. Several rooms inside, frozen in time: stony walls, ancient wooden rafters, fireplaces. There's also a small room with just a table for two, for romantic dinners, secluded from the other people in a lovely atmosphere. Outside, gorgeous view on the hills all around, a few of them with small villages on top. Food is great, typical of this region, host and personnel are very friendly and genuine. Bottom line, this is proof that Marche are much better value than Tuscany, just try, you won't be disappointed!
