Cafe Central - Castelo De Vide

We each ordered salads, and got tiny soupbowls with boring salad floating in water. The salad with tuna had canned tuna and cost 8 euros.

This cafe is central to everything in this tiny little town, but we chose it based on friends' recommendations (out of the many cafes that are here. Hot fresh food, great soup, good sandwiches, most of it in pastry cases so you just point. They speak some English and are so eager to please...The food was so good and the owners so friendly. Cozy and comforting, almost like visiting family.

The central square in Castelo de Vide is filled with café 's, so how to pick one? Go for Central! Because: A VERY friendly staff. A menu close to a restaurants; from small snacks to lunch/dinner. A choice to sit inside or outside. VERY reasonable prices. A wide variaty of costumers, BUT always the best sign of all: Local residents popping in and out, some several times a day. If you know just a little about Portugal, you 'll know that it 's a a stamp of guarantee . At the same time, foreigners/tourists feel indeed welcome; if you come back 2 or 3 times, well, then you 're treated like one of their own . And then you 're in good hands... Sitting eating fresh shrimps with a cerveja or Sumol, literally AT the center of the town square, or inside with the television, if you think that sounds like a good idea... Go to Cafe Central.

Great Bifana with lovely bread. Mixed salad was ok but a bit basic. Excellent coffee Delta Good service and nice location behind the church. Thank you
