Rrally nice place to visit. You get to know a lot of facts about various spices which you never knew.
Not for those who like their rural experience sanitized under the not so subtle sometimes insipid 'Tourist Umbrella'. After a personal tour by our very informed and entertaining guide, - he spoke to us like we were children on a school tour - the teenagers were somewhat put out but that was part of the experience for us. Extremely popular among locals in the know, your meal is planned, prepared and served according to strict Religious and/or Ayurvedic traditions. The cooks and kitchen staff follow strict culinary rules in the prepping, cooking and serving. While allowances are made for various palates including young children, the simple, traditional and seriously delicious buffet has bags of flavour in every morsel sampled. Local visitors at another table likened the meal to going back to the ancestral home-front during school holidays and grandma's been busy in the kitchen! A rough diamond, but if I could, I'd be back in a heartbeat!
This place takes you to old Goa and spice plantation done there. They also serve authentic goan meal at the end of the visit. Surely a must try
If you want to experience the traditional Goan food as eaten in rural homes of Goa, then this is the place. The ambiance is like a "kulagar", which is a traditional small farm in Goa with multiple species of spice trees, coconuts, betel nuts, bananas, etc. The starters are dry ready to eat snacks like chaklis/jackfruit chips and fried fish mackerels/prawns, etc. The main course is fried fish, fish curry, traditional vegetables(raw banana, etc), daal, rice(multiple variety),etc. No liquor is served but beer is available at extra cost.Absolutely value for money at Rs600/person.However service can be issue if there is a large group(busload) of tourists arrive when you are there. Your lunch may get extended by a couple of hours! Also sometimes there is an indifferent attitude of the people serving you.
