This is a well known place in Ponda. The entry fee of this farm is Rs. 400 each which includes the guided tour and the buffet lunch. It is a private property which is owned by Shahakari brothers. The food is authentic Goan food, and it is very tasty. Specially the rawa fry and chicken xacuti is awesome. I also must mention about the kokum juice. It is simply WOW. One should try at least once. Sahakari spice garden in Goa is a nice & huge plantation farm where you get to see amazing flora & fauna. The tour guide explains you everything beautifully. She told us the whole farm is spread across 130 acres. There are some modes of relaxation also after wandering through the huge garden. Food available was average taste. This place will basically interest more of those people who like plantation, agro therapy or... View all feedback.

Sahakari spice farm is well known tourist destination in goa. This is my second visit in several years but the place retains its rustic charm, a perfect place to beat summer heat. You are welcomed with garlands and flowers followed by lemon grass tea. Later a guide will take you on a spice trail. They are well trained in speaking fluent english or hindi and add many comic lines during the tour which will make you smile. The spice tour is short hardly for 20-25 min max. The spices shown are usual we come across in any indian kitchen. Your mother might know many more. We specifically enquired for some spices but the girl response was not convincing. The tour only ensures that you are not given raw deal for 400 rs per head. At the end of the very short tour of maximum 5-6 spices the guests are given thanda dose of some water behind back which may embarass a few but has cooling effect. The good part is the food menu. Simple but tasty. No chapatis but very soft pao which you can savour with veg gravy dish or dried cabbage dish or chicken curry both are awesome. The vegetarian gravy has pieces of raw banana which adds to its taste. The chickrn curry is awesome and you will prefer to go for round 2 despite long queue. Fried fish and curry with bolied rice will leave spicy hot flavours in your mouth which you need to neutralise with few shots of kokam kadi. In dessert we had sweet rice which tasted nice. Remember water, soft drinks are chargeable. I only missed the complementary feni shot which was served few years back. Now you have only option of buying a bottle for 170 rs. Do buy some cashews from here as they are of good quality and taste better. All in all a good place to bring your relatives and friends from outside goa out for a lunch and brush your knowledge of spices
My sister, daughter and myself really enjoyed our visit to the Spice farm. The Welcome was joyful and nice and we were received with a glass of herbal tea. Then we were introduced to our guide Lucy. She was very nice, she took her time and had us engaged by asking us to smell and look and guess what the spice was.At the end of the tour she also gave us a shot of the local wine of Goa; the cashew feni.We finished our tour with an excellent meal.Thank you!

Went to the spice plantation with my hubby, it cost 400 rupees each and that was for a welcome drink, 45 mins tour, and buffet lunch... excellent value and a fab way to learn about spices.Drinks at lunch aren't included in the price and there is the opportunity to purchase some spices at the end... worth a visit!
