Was Kelsey Steed at Casper's Good Cooking a mag?
I enjoy visiting this restaurant from time to time with my kids. We always choose the non-smoking booth in the back corner. The staff is consistently friendly and attentive. I really like the atmosphere! We typically go during the day, but it's great that they are open 24/7. The food is also quite good; I've never had any complaints about it. View all feedback.
What Casimir Rau dislikes about Casper's Good Cooking:
I tried this place again after a long layoff. They are non smoking now so I thought it was time to give them another try. I had the Chicken fried steak and it was good. Came back the next day and tried the steak and eggs, $18.85 for a 6 oz. piece of tough sirloin just wasn't worth it. I suggest ordering just the basics, stay away from the steak and/or the pork chops. View all feedback.

Delicious food and excellent service. No extra fuss here. It's not a spot for overly sensitive vegans. Just the way I prefer it.
Looking for a simple place to eat, we found this restaurant...walking up we were very surprised to see it was a 'smoker friendly ' place (I haven 't seen a restaurant that allowed smoking in over 25 years) The smoking half was busy, the non smoking not, but only 1 gal serving (she was great) so service was a bit slow...though she kept the coffee cup topped up! The menu was ok, the food was good. Nothing fancy here, but popular with the locals.
When the waiter welcomed us, he asked if we preferred the smoking area or the non-smoking area. My husband and I were quite surprised! Naturally, we opted for the non-smoking section and inquired more about the smoking policy. It turns out this is one of the few places where you can still choose to smoke inside, which is quite unique. Even better, they made a genuine effort to be family-friendly. We likely wouldn't have stopped here with the kids if we had known smoking was allowed, but we were pleasantly surprised by how accommodating they were. The waiter, whose name I regret not getting, was very professional and kind, making us feel at ease. After placing our order, I saw some negative reviews and began to worry that the experience might go downhill, but to my delight, it only improved from there. The food was delicious, and we had no complaints! The waiter was exceptionally attentive to our needs. Overall, this ended up being an unexpected and enjoyable experience, and we were glad we decided to stop here. Plus, the prices were very reasonable!
This dive pulled together better than expected. We showed up 12 deep and hungry and the huge amounts of food arrived faster than our salads went down I'm impressed. And seeing how it was our servers last day, he rocked it till the end. The food was great I was not unimpressed

I like to come here so often with my children. We always sit in the rear corner stand not smoking. The servers are always friendly and attentive. I think the atmosphere is great! We usually go in during the day, but they are open 24 hours. The food is good also í never any complaints there.
This restaurant is one of the few where smoking is still allowed inside, which is quite unique. Even better, they go out of their way to create a family-friendly atmosphere. We probably wouldn’t have stopped here with the kids had we known about the smoking option, but I’m glad we did, as they made us feel very welcome. The waiter, whose name I unfortunately didn’t catch, was very professional and made us feel comfortable throughout our visit. After reading some negative reviews while waiting for our food, I started to worry that things might not go well, but to my surprise, the experience only got better. The food was delicious, and we had no complaints at all. The waitstaff were attentive, ensuring our needs were met. Overall, it was an unexpected experience that we were thrilled to have. The prices were also very reasonable.
Every person who gave this place a positive rating really needs to rethink their idea of quality. This dive had a scent reminiscent of dirty gas station restrooms, with a strong smell of toilet sanitizing cakes. To make matters worse, the restroom had no soap. Let me be clear: it wasn't that they were out of soap; there simply wasn't a place for it at all. At that point, we should have left and not even sat in the so-called "non-smoking" booth. However, based on the reviews we read, we chose to continue on this “Twilight Zone” experience, hoping that the food would redeem it all. While there was a designated “non-smoking” area, it was painfully clear that the whole restaurant had likely operated as a smoking zone for ages. The staff was loud and disruptive, socializing at the counter with friends and what seemed like regular patrons. As for the food, it was so bad that I wouldn’t even serve it to a dog belonging to my worst enemy. The coffee was decent and served hot, but getting refills was a challenge. This place should really be shut down.
