Okay.
Went to Checkmate after recommendation by friends. Sergio was an excellent host, very welcoming. The inside of the restaurant is very nicely furnished. Because we arrived quite early there was a wait but Sergio filled this time by providing a free glass of Prosecco and...a plate of snacks. The Anti-pasti was splendid with a large selection of meat and cheese. We chose the black Angus steak with mushrooms and truffles (Sergio picks those himself). This was some of the best beef I've ever tasted! Desert was cheese cake which was lovely. All for a total of €52, amazing value. We had a wonderful meal and will definitely be going back. Would truly recommend others to give this place a try.
