Gli Scacchi - CASERTA

We stopped in this restaurant on our way from Naples to Rome on a summer weekday. The place is nice, they have a nice garden (many mosquitos so beware if you attract them), private parking and a large internal seating room. The food is nice but the service is frankly very slow. The owner stood chatting with other tables for quite a long time before we could ask him for a glass of wine. We were in a hurry to catch a flight in Rome so we only ate an entrée and a main course and it still took more than two hours (being among the first guests to arrive). we could not enjoy a full meal as the timing did not allow. I would recommend the owner to spend a bit less time chatting and concentrating on the service.

I have just eaten in this amazing restaurant: nice location and setting of the tables, the owner personally takes care of you with kindness and professionalism. And the dishes are excellent, fresh, seasonal ingredients arranged in a very sophisticated combination of tastes. My husband and I are mainly meat eaters, but we were totally impressed by their vegetables. I hope to have time to come back.

I've already been a few times to this nice restaurant. This time was with some friends. The service was courteous and efficient. Taking into account also past experience, I would say that the atmosphere is warm and hospitable in winter, while in summer a nice, green patio makes it for a welcome getaway from the heat of the town. The food we tried was excellent. Lately, I also noticed an increasing attention to the use of local produce, which makes the experience interesting beyond the usual fare of local quality restaurants. The excellence of desserts nevertheless remains a constant of the menu. It is definitely a place where to head for while visiting the area.

All good.Starry cooking and therefore not cheap. Small but nice place. Nice staff.

The expectations were high because we were advised several times by friends, and reflected in full all that beautiful and especially good we were told . We stayed for a party where initially we toasted in a dedicated bar corner.. appetizing particular finger food and excellent quality. Then go to a real dinner. All very good and especially attention in the scaffolding, prepared with accuracy and skill. Wide choice of wines and above all a wonderful private room directly in the cellar where you can dine. We will definitely be back
