Jan H. on the Reservations Team is a bona fide Client Care maven. She is endlessly patient and friendly and she genuinely relished helping me create a special day for my 80yo father-in-law and his sweet, sassy, southern belle girlfriend to remember. Thank you, Jan!
It's an expensive place but it is worth it if you have the opportunity. Everything is top notch from the moment you walk into the resort. Pool and walking trail were so nice.
This review is about the reservation process. It seemed odd to get the same receptionist with such a large hotel. However, I called three different numbers listed on their website and Google. Finally, I decided to cancel my reservation. However, Simone was unable to cancel the reservation. She said someone would reach out to me??? I will monitor my banking account because the entire interaction appears suspicious. BEWARE.
If you like to enjoy great places people and things like I do, you'll have visiting the umstead hotel as one of the get aways. I didn't stay at this establishment but rather did a day visit. This was not the best experience for such a fine hotel. But, I will try it again. Perhaps this day was just an off day. I can say that once receiving my food it was delightful. What a great sauce on the salmon dish. And I appreciate being recognized by management for the longer than normal wait. That meant alot. Umstead although I wasn't too impressed this time I'm sure the next time I come when I try the spa AND a meal, the day will be sensational. Until then, don't forget good people to smile often, do good and be grateful!!!
