Very delicious and filling. I love the duk bokki (spicy Korean rice cake). The menu says the pics of the food may not match the look of the meal you get. Besides the rice cakes, I found that I also got a few crispy dumplings on top and a hard boiled egg. There was also pickled yellow radish to help with the spice. I didn't buy a drink here, though. What Robert Popa Emil doesn't like about Kang Nam Town:
This place was one of the best Korean food places in NC. However, after the ownership change recently, the quality of food has been slowly degrading. Maybe the inflation is one of factors. Kimchi stew used to be slowly simmered style, but now I just taste boiled Kimchi water. Before, I could taste pork in Tangsooyuk, but now barely. Ordered the goat soup and received the smallest bowl of soup I?ve ever seen at a cost of $18. Even charged me for extra white rice, first time I?ve ever seen that at a dine in Asian restaurant. What I received looked completely different than the picture, and about half the size.I don?t even want to try the rest of the food.
Avoid the beef bibimbap! I ordered it and was disgusted by the quality of the beef. It is mushy, menced beef that was more liquid than solid. Despite the look, I gave it a try and it tastes just as bad as it looks. This honestly looks and tastes like something I would feed my cat.
This is honestly a great place to get a quick meal if you want Korean cuisine. I've ordered a few different items, and pictured is their hot stone bibimbop bowl. The fermented veggies could be a bit more crisp, but everything is very reasonable for the price/wait time. Enjoy!
