Original burned. But so beloved was the ernie's joint that the city reb uilt it on the same spot in the same decor,,ha ha, to be the exact same as the one that burned. 8 stools in front of a counter is all it is. great burgers, chili dogs and steak and gravy, breakfast is also very good. order a hamburger all the way and see what you get? good groceries!!!!!!!!!!!! The food is simple but comforting, reminiscent of homemade dishes straight from grandma's kitchen. It features classic southern comfort food that really hits the spot. While the exterior gives off a vibe of having been around for 80 years, the interior is surprisingly clean, and the kitchen equipment is well-maintained and spotless. If you're not one for socializing, this might not be the place for you. It's clear that this is a favorite hangout for the locals of Cartersville, and everyone seems to know each other. This sense of community adds to the charm of the diner, which I absolutely love.
Mark of Zorro – the best of the best! This is a cozy little spot with around 10 bar stools for dining, so be prepared to take your meal to go. They serve the most incredible no-frills hamburgers you’ll find anywhere! There’s nothing fancy here, just hand-formed patties cooked to perfection right on an open grill that you can watch. A great tip for enjoying clean food is to choose a place where you can see them prepare it! Zorro highly recommends this place if you're craving fresh hamburgers that won't empty your wallet. Just remember to plan on eating in your car!
I've lived in Cartersville for about 20 years, and until this year (2012), I had never eaten at 4-Way Lunch. The building appeared to be sinking in one corner, and it definitely looked like it was from the 1920s. Well, it turns out it was built in the 1920s! This year, I finally decided to give it a try. Wow. Double wow. Their $1.95 hamburger is made fresh from unfrozen ground beef. The menu is incredibly simple: hamburger, hot dog, and chicken. But honestly, that’s all you need. One of their specialties is gravy fries. I know it sounds unusual, but don’t dismiss them without trying! There are eight stools in the front and space for three more in the back. Just a heads-up: don’t ask for pasta primavera unless you want to face some playful backlash. When you're finished eating, be sure to get up and let someone else take your bar stool. Everything here is very plain, simple, and straightforward. Make sure someone snaps a photo of you in front of the building; when you get home, nobody will believe that you actually ate there. They don’t have a website, but they've gotten along just fine without one since the 1920s, so who needs it now? Plenty of people dine here every day. I’ve heard they also serve breakfast, but I’ve never been up early enough to confirm that!
AMAZING!! I've been going there since I was a little girl, and I look forward to the trip every time I get the chance!
Simple. Wow, this place is quite fancy! Well, not really. It's one of the most down-to-earth spots I've ever visited. I think it seats only ten people at a time. There are stools at the bar, and behind the bar, the cooks prepare a few items from their lunch menu. This was my first visit, so I ordered a cheeseburger for my son and a steak sandwich for myself. I tried his cheeseburger and was pleased enough with the flavor to add this restaurant to my 'like' list. However, I wasn't overly impressed with the steak sandwich; it was smothered in gravy. It seems I ordered the wrong dish, as I noticed they were serving a lot of their ALL-THE-WAY BURGERS to other customers, which are burgers topped with chili. Hopefully, I'll try that next time. There was something very appealing about the experience — perhaps it was the simplicity of it all.
