The overall experience was great. The food was served hot and fresh, and the takeout containers were sturdy. I would highly recommend this restaurant for anyone looking to order Chinese food from the menu. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Wen's Restaurant:
The previous establishment (lucky way) was better. Take out orders are always missing items, staff is rude and acts as though you are bother them when you call to order. Dine in service is not enjoyable either. Seems unkempt and dirty. View all feedback.

As long time residents of Carstairs, we would frequently come here for Chinese food, when it was still known as Lucky Way and Golden Swallow. Unfortunately, the newest takeover resulted in menu changes, with prices going up, less options for multiple person dinner combos, and some of our favorite dishes no longer being offered. While the food wasn't awful, we didn't find it to be as good as the previous cooks prepared it.We will now be frequenting other restaurants for our Chinese food fix.
After some difficulties at the start, the restaurant seems to be running smoothly now. We were there for the second time in the early afternoon and it was fairly quiet. The owner lady was our server and service was good. The food arrived in reasonable time, hot and tasty. The vegetables were fresh and not over cooked. The Beef and Broccoli was as good as almost anywhere but the Shanghai Noodles were rather unspectacular, on the dry side with little sauce. If you want some decent Chinese food that fills you up, you can do far worse. I'm going to try the Friday night buffet next.
This seems to be a new restaurant, and they don't know what they're doing yet. The food tasted as though it came out of a box, and the service was almost non existent. We were promised soup, which never came, the western dish (pork chops) was missing the mashed potatoes, and the vegetables were cold. Chopsticks had to be requested for the Chinese food, and the waitress didn't bother to refill the water. We weren't allowed to take the bill with us, only the bank payment slip. The only response provided by the waitress was that it wasn't her fault, it was the kitchen. The sign outside said they were fully licensed, but they weren't licensed at all. Apparently that will not happen for another eight weeks.
I love Hayden Block's a la carte setup: meats are priced per the half pound or unit, basic sides $4 each and bigger sides are priced per tray.
