Although absolutely delicious, can be pretty expensive. Good sushi and Chinese food. Great for take out (10-15mins) or dine in. All you can eat sushi. Great appetizers. Just very pricey. Good for a rare treat!! View all feedback.
What Katie doesn't like about Ming's Chinese Japanese:
This restaurant used to be great when Bob, the previous owner, was in charge. However, now that it is owned by young guys who are inexperienced, the quality has declined. The sushi bar in particular is disappointing, with a poor ratio of rice to fish and thin slices of fish. My family and I dine at Ming's for sushi at least once a week and we absolutely love it! While it may be Americanized, we live in a small town far from the ocean, so it's a great option for a quick lunch or dinner when we don't feel like making the drive to Reno. The portions may not be huge if you're ordering all you can eat sushi, but the fish is always fresh, delicious, and consistent. The service is consistently excellent as well. I haven't come across any other restaurant that includes spider rolls on their all you can eat menu.
The sushi at this restaurant is subpar compared to other establishments in the area. The fish itself is not bad, but the ratio of fish to rice is off, with large balls of rice topped with thinly sliced fish. Additionally, there is a sign at the sushi bar stating that customers must eat all the rice or face extra charges. The Chinese food on the other side of the restaurant is average, featuring typical Americanized dishes with sweet, gloppy sauces and deep-fried meats. Despite the presence of Chinese staff, the restaurant does not offer authentic Chinese cuisine. Overall, I would recommend trying out another restaurant in town, such as The Basil, which offers superior Thai food.

The sushi bar in particular is disappointing, with a poor ratio of rice to fish and thin slices of fish. I will now make the effort to travel to Reno for high-quality all-you-can-eat sushi prepared right in front of me. The Chinese food is mediocre, offering typical Americanized dishes like sweet and sour entrees, egg rolls, and fried rice. I have heard that the new Golden Degon restaurant near the north Walmart is much better.
Excellent food. The Sushi was very tasty and fresh. The Chinese cuisine was great. I enjoyed the Szechuan Chicken for lunch at under $7 great service
If you are in Carson and you can't decide between sushi or Chinese this is a decent choice. Prices are reasonable and the food is good.
