The Cottage - Carrick-on-shannon

Everything we heard about this place is true. Lovely venue, attentive, knowledgeable staff, attention to detail and most of all, good food. The cured salmon dish was beautiful. All the dishes were so well put together. Nice selection of mines. While we booked months in advance such is the demand, we have booked gain for next February. 5 star.

I booked months in advance as I wanted to dine here for my birthday. It didn't disappoint! The three of us went for the tasting menu. When the first (of 7) plates came out I envisaged stopping at the chippie on the way home. I was very wrong. Course after course arrived, all presented beautifully, all with completely different flavours. I don't claim to be a massive foodie...but I was in heaven. As for the staff, all were so warm, welcoming obliging, when we asked for some takeaway, bring unable to finish. I'll definitely be back there!

We had the most amazing dining experience at The Cottage. From the moment we walked in Lee and Tracy were delightful hosts. The menu choice reflects what is the best seasonal ingredients available. The flavours of Malaysia are subtle but compliment the local produce. The Duck breast was cooked to perfection. The breads were some of the nicest I’ve ever been served. At the end of the meal, Sham, the Chef and proprietor took time to talk about his influences and the story of The Cottages evolution. I could not believe this hidden gem is on my door step.

Yet another wonderful evening at our favourite restaurant celebrating our 33rd Wedding Anniversary. Wonderful food, great atmosphere very welcoming staff.A five star establishment

This place never disappoints! It's clear that Sham has made such an effort to use local and seasonal products in his menu. The Asian flavours transform our irish produce to another lever. Such a treat visiting here and I can't wait to go again
