What User doesn't like about Casale Ferrovia:
the local, obtained (so we were told) from an ancient mill, near the railway, is very pleasant, but here the best notes end. the newspaper, in fact, is very short, the rest is recited in voice; the service, the evening of our visit, the debating; the kitchen, in a decided affanno. sin, because then the dishes were not bad: among the tried ones, the greeting of the chef based of goat flavored to the mint, the eggplant... The local, obtained (so we were told) from an ancient mill, near the railway, is very pleasant, but here the best notes end. the newspaper, in fact, is very short, the rest is recited in voice; the service, the evening of our visit, the debating; the kitchen, in a decided affanno. sin, because then the dishes were not bad: among the tried ones, the greeting of the chef based of goat flavored to the mint, the eggplants with tomato and stracciatella, the white onion caramelized with cheese, the fried with scampi, zucchini and saffron, the blue fish (seeds) to the citrus, the parmigiana non parmigiana contoni and eggplant, the tirami. in some cases, executions not until ambitions. with a bottle of hay, account of just over 40 euros per person for a full dinner.
The setting and decor were promising. Our dinner started off with a nice aperitif. What followed was sort of a fawlty towers experience, maitre and staff failed to sync, plates were taken from the table beforehand and new courses arrived in record time. Staff were arguing. The waiter forgot to bring our wine. Meals were tasty but it seems the chef tries to hard. We were confronted with a whopping bill that had errors. No apologies, a somewhat uninterested owner that blamed it all on the computer. At Casale Ferrovia these are programmed to inflated the price of water from 2 to 44 euro’s. All and all a confusing disappointing experience.
Nice location, not too far from the state road. Interior is impressive, but food has indeed exceeded my expectations. My choice was tartar di vitello and biancostato. Both were excellent, as well as mini- cheesecake at the end. Highly recommended! Will definitely come back
It was not easy to find it but it was worth to make the effort. We were recieved even earlier than normal in this restaurant and enjoyed the friendly, attentive service and the excellent food. The atmosphere of the restaurant was nice and unique.
