What josh W doesn't like about Flying Biscuit Cafe — Downtown West-end:
The hostess that worked on 11/13/2022 was the rudest person I have met. She made me feel as if my 3 month old daughter wasn’t allowed in the building. “Her stroller is a hazard and she can’t have a high chair because that table is for 4 people” (we had 4 adults and a baby) instead of finding a solution and making us feel comfortable she did nothing but work against us and make us feel unwanted In the restaurant. Great experience, the food was delicious and the service good. We went a little before one, my hubby had the chicken Cobb salad, eat every bite, said it was fresh and yummy. I had the shrimp and grits, they were wonderful, the shrimp perfectly cooked and the grits some of the best I have had.
This is a great spot but they are experiencing the problem of not enough staff or cooks in the kitchen…20—30 minutes to wait and 30—40 minutes after ordering. It was worth the wait.
The food was really, really good, but we had to wait for over 30 minutes to get our meal, and then I was brought the wrong meal. Next time I went, it took over an hour from the time we were seated to get our food which was luke warm at best. Food was still tasty, but I don't understand why it would take over an hour to make a grits bowl. The servers were friendly, just waaaaay too long to get your food.
