Was Anonym at Pooles a mag?
Had a wonderful meal of chicken strips coated in a crispy Cajun-spiced batter, served with salad and chips. The chicken was tender and flavorful, and the fresh salad came in a generous portion. Great value, with a relaxed atmosphere and friendly service. View all feedback.
What Anonym dislikes about Pooles:
The restaurant was quite cold, so I recommend warming up before dining. The food was beautifully presented, but I don't feel it was worth the price we paid. For dinner, we spent around €80–90 per person. The service was decent, but overall, it didn't meet my expectations. View all feedback.

If I could give them 10 stars I would. My family and I were going home to Ireland from the USA and we were trying to find a place for dinner reservation for 30 people. I contacted Theresa pools on the recommendation of one of my family members. Theresa was nothing but a pleasure to work with. Theresa put together a three course meal with lots of choices from each course for everybody to choose from. Everything went off perfectly. The food was Delicious from Starters to dessert. The staff was amazing and so attentive never missed a beat. Theresa, thank you once again for your hospitality. We will return on our next visit Home. Liane

The dinner I had at this restaurant was fantastic! The food was exceptional, earning a perfect score of 5. The service was equally impressive, with attentive staff who made us feel welcome throughout our meal. While the atmosphere was decent, it could use a bit of improvement, hence a rating of 3. I highly recommend trying the Curry Chicken; it was absolutely delicious! Plus, there’s the added bonus of free street parking, making it convenient for diners. Overall, I had a great experience and would definitely return.

We visited Pooles in Carnew for Sunday lunch. Four adults and a baby. From the moment we went in the door we loved everything about the place. We had young friendly staff who obviously enjoy their work, restaurant has a lovely ambiance. The food was absolutely perfect. The service was fast and the variety of food available was incredible. Well worth the visit and we will definitely be back.
The young and energetic waitstaff were incredibly attentive and accommodating. Caoimhe seamlessly handled our bill-splitting, which can often be a challenge for larger groups. The menu offered a fantastic variety, catering to everyone’s tastes, with plenty of vegetarian and vegan options available. The portions were generous and reasonably priced. Both the service and presentation were top-notch. Overall, it was a delightful experience, and the friendly, dedicated, and professional young staff made it even more enjoyable. Great job, ladies – we will definitely return!

On our way home from Carlow, my son and I decided to stop in Carnew for dinner. Pooles Restaurant turned out to be an excellent choice. From the moment we stepped in, we were warmly welcomed, even though we hadn’t made a reservation. The menu offered a fantastic selection of starters, main courses, and desserts. My son chose the roast turkey and ham, while I opted for lamb cooked in a deliciously spicy sauce with rice. The lamb was beautifully prepared and had no excess fat. We couldn’t resist trying the desserts, and both of us went for the Bailey's chocolate chip cheesecake. We left feeling satisfied, full, and extremely pleased with our choice of restaurant. I couldn’t rate the staff, facilities, cleanliness, and food highly enough. We will definitely be back!

I ordered from the takeout menu today, and I found the food to be delicious. However, I was disappointed with the portion sizes; the rice was just too small, more like a child's portion.

Nice food, a lot of choice, service is good, beautiful place
I had a very disappointing experience at this restaurant. We arrived early in the evening, but the place felt cold. I ordered a medium-rare sirloin, and it came out well done! It was served with frozen fries and cost nearly €23. Two people ordered chili butter, but it was actually a sauce, and the portion was more suitable for a starter. One person ordered profiteroles, which were soggy. Since we were treated to the meal, I felt unable to complain about the issues. I will definitely not be returning to this overpriced and underwhelming restaurant.
