What Anonym dislikes about Pooles:
The restaurant was quite cold, so I recommend warming up before dining. The food was beautifully presented, but I don't feel it was worth the price we paid. For dinner, we spent around €80–90 per person. The service was decent, but overall, it didn't meet my expectations. View all feedback.

All one could hope for from a family restaurant in a small Irish country town. Extensive menu of well priced good quality items that will offer a choice to the most limited palate. Attentive and vibrant staff, and a great atmosphere borne of families gathering and friends meeting. Lastly the delightful relaxed air of a place you aren't being chased out of (a rarity these days). Highly recommended.
This was my 2nd time at Pooles within 2 months Excellent food an very friendly an helpful staff Will deffo be back again when back in the area
Last night, we celebrated a special occasion at Poole's Restaurant in Carnew, and our experience was truly fantastic. The staff was exceptionally helpful and attentive. Even with a party of eleven, our food was served promptly and was absolutely delicious. Each dish was beautifully presented, and there was more than enough to go around. I highly recommend this restaurant. Five stars!

Great hearty food as always. Went there with my extended family for Sunday lunch and we all enjoyed our meals thoroughly.

Poole’s is a fabulous family restaurant which serves a wide range of tasty foods. Service is always friendly and very efficient. Portion sizes are generous. A great place to eat as a couple/ family group. They also do take away.
Poole's looks a bit like an ordinary pizza joint but it is worth a visit. It is run by an Italian family and serves good Italian food, not fancy or exotic but very tasty and well cooked and presented. Ignore the plastic tablecloths and the...local schoolchildren at lunch time. Enjoy an unpretentious Italian meal at an exellent price.
I had the pleasure of dining at Poole's twice during my stay in Wicklow. It has a charming ambiance, with antique furnishings, authentic decor and a nice variety of menu options. The food was served quickly, hot, delicious and well-presented. Service staff were unfailingly polite...and attentive, but not overbearing. I highly recommend Poole's if you're in Carnew!

On our way home from Carlow, my son and I decided to stop in Carnew for dinner. Pooles Restaurant turned out to be an excellent choice. From the moment we stepped in, we were warmly welcomed, even though we hadn’t made a reservation. The menu offered a fantastic selection of starters, main courses, and desserts. My son chose the roast turkey and ham, while I opted for lamb cooked in a deliciously spicy sauce with rice. The lamb was beautifully prepared and had no excess fat. We couldn’t resist trying the desserts, and both of us went for the Bailey's chocolate chip cheesecake. We left feeling satisfied, full, and extremely pleased with our choice of restaurant. I couldn’t rate the staff, facilities, cleanliness, and food highly enough. We will definitely be back!
I ordered from the takeout menu today, and I found the food to be delicious. However, I was disappointed with the portion sizes; the rice was just too small, more like a child's portion.
Delicious take away lunch today for fathers day. Thank Poole's we'll definitely see you again.

The young and energetic waitstaff were incredibly attentive and accommodating. Caoimhe seamlessly handled our bill-splitting, which can often be a challenge for larger groups. The menu offered a fantastic variety, catering to everyone’s tastes, with plenty of vegetarian and vegan options available. The portions were generous and reasonably priced. Both the service and presentation were top-notch. Overall, it was a delightful experience, and the friendly, dedicated, and professional young staff made it even more enjoyable. Great job, ladies – we will definitely return!
