Menu

The menu of Rosstown Hotel from Carnegie contains about 88 different courses and drinks. On average you pay about A$25 for a dish / drink.

The Rosstown Hotel stands out as a versatile venue in Melbourne’s south-east, seamlessly blending a bistro, sports bar, and function space. Diners rave about the delicious food and friendly, attentive staff, creating a welcoming atmosphere. However, a common critique is the overly generous portion sizes, which often lead to food waste and disappointment about takeaway policies. While some dishes, like the roast lamb and pavlova, receive high praise, others fall short on flavor. Overall, it’s an excellent family-friendly choice for gatherings, though diners may benefit from opting for smaller portions or shared meals to enhance their experience.

Was Anonym at Rosstown Hotel a mag?
Not sure why I had pretty low expectations coming in for dinner but they were beyond exceeded!! We had entrees to share (sliders, polenta chips) and they were sooo beautiful!! Also couldn't fault my Parma Connor McGregor one ☺️ Bar staff were lovely especially girl with blonde hair.. same with floor staff but verrrryyyy unknowledgable. Kinda let down your kitchen staff by having poor floor staff. Nonetheless great ex... View all feedback.

What Anonym dislikes about Rosstown Hotel:
Love the renovations and it's a great pub. It has booths with its own TV in the TAB area! The bistro is really noisy though. The meals were delicious and beautifully presented but a bit too big I felt like we waisted a bit of food View all feedback.

There are real vegetarian choices here and, as is typical for a pub, they are quite large in size. Arriving without a booking at 6:30pm on a Saturday night we were lucky to get a table, but the staff here are very efficient and know what they have and can move things around and clean up used tables quickly. The meals are relatively expensive, but the food is worth it. We had a mushroom risotto (with 4 different types of mushroom) and vegetarian quesadillas.

Food is very nice and much better than normal pub food. However, you do pay for the upmarket feel of the pub with dishes all around $30 which is unfortunate as taking the family becomes too expensive

Food is generally good. Large portions. HOWEVER, there is no waiter service; all food and drinks must be ordered separately by going up to the bar. For the prices they charge, this is ridiculous. Also, they refuse to provide containers so you can take home what you don't eat. Also ridiculous. Cannot recommend on this basis alone.

This review is for The Rosstown restaurant and bar, which also has a pokies gaming area. Even on a Monday afternoon, The Rosstown can be bustling with people enjoying lunch. The staff in the dining area are very attentive and clearly enjoy their job, without being pushy. The layout design is modern and sleek, with fireplaces at each end, reminiscent of other pubs in the area. The food is delicious, but be aware that the portions are very generous, even on salads. It's best to order a few dishes to share with a large group of friends, so you can try a variety of offerings. Alternatively, they have lighter meal options that are cheaper. The downside is the prices, as they are a bit higher than what you would expect for a pub, with most main meals priced between $30 and $35. However, considering the decor and the variety of options on the menu to suit all tastes, it's forgivable. One highlight during my visit was the dessert menu, which had a wide array of choices for those with a sweet tooth, such as panna cotta, sticky date pudding, waffles, and churros. Yum!
