This little town has a gem of a place to eat. The food is Outstanding. All home cooked nothing deep fried. Wholesome goodness something for everyone, from something light to a whole meal . The homemade cheesecake is soooo heavenly delicious. These cooks and owner have a real Outstanding business, with so much to offer in healthy good home cooked food. So delicious. I am hoping to back again for a second visit. View all feedback.
What Winnifred Kunze doesn't like about Olive Branch Bistro:
We had been hearing rave reviews about the food at the Olive Branch in Carnduff and it didn't disappoint in that regard. The appetizers in particular were outstanding. However, the great deliver from the back didn't translate into outstanding customer service in the front. Our server was a nice enough woman, but she obviously had little to no table service training - pushing our glasses across the table, not pouring... View all feedback.
Olive Branch is our go to for special occasions or even just for a treat. I’m close but most of my friends and family that join we are coming from about an hour away. And it is worth it! Have been many times and I am never disappointed. The menu is bright and focuses on great flavours and variety. And the cheesecake is a MUST. It’s usually served right in a to go container as you are sure to be full and happy at the end of your meal. The service is always top notch. They plan the reservations perfectly so there is a flow to each table that is casual and relaxed. It’s an evening out, all on its own!

We each had to travel approximately an hour to reach this restaurant and were both incredibly excited to try out this small town spot as we had heard such amazing things about it. Frankly, we were both disappointed. The service and food were good, but overall, there wasn 't a single special thing about our experience. The food was nothing we couldn 't make a home and lacked plating refinement. The other major thing we noticed about the food was a major lack in spices. Our baked potato was more sour cream than potato and the fettuccine was a blob of white sauce over a bed of store bought pasta. The atmosphere was only fine. The decor was eclectic and the bright lighting took away from the claim of intimate . Given the budget and opportunity, the space could be warm and inviting, rather than sporadically decorated and strangely separated from other diners due to a wall down the centre of the dining room. They did have a beautiful fireplace, but the hefty meal price did not include a fire. In conclusion, if someone were to ask me if I would travel an hour and spend over $200.00 for sub-fine dining food again, my answer would be a resounding no.
Very well prepared, tasty food. No need on the menu, odd for SK, but lots of chicken, fish and pork dishes. The ribs I had were a full meal. And my colleagues took home a good portion of their pasta dishes. Try the mushroom appetizer...very good!
First time going to the Olive Branch the other night. Went to surprise a friend to celebrate her engagement. All the meals are soo filling; if you go out hungry it is your own fault. I have been told you can't leave that place without buying cheesecake or else you didn't have the full Olive Branch experience!
