We joined family who were staying at a nearby campsite for an evening meal. The restaurant has a certain rustic charm from the outside; has a wall enclosed Japanese themed outdoor area, with koi fish in a glass enclosed outbuilding, and a simple restaurant cum shop inside, complete with lobster tank. We were a party of 11 ranging in age from 5 to 82 and as it was a cool evening we were seated inside at a long table next to the windows with a view of the garden. Apart from 3 kids menus the adults all chose the €39 menu. The food was really very good which was an unexpected and pleasant surprise given the location amongst the three or four campsites nearby. The fixed price menu provided a lot of options; starters included 10 oysters, a pulled crab bisque, foie gras; the mains included guinea fowl, pork, various fresh fish options; the desserts included an average hard set chocolate mousse but the best was the crepe suzette! The kids chose the skewer of chicken pieces on a bed of mashed potato and this was a big hit! Great wine selection and very good service. Highly recommend this establishment; well worth making the effort and good value. Take care not to fill up on the regularly offered freshly baked rolls and home made butters!
