Casey's - Carmi
Casey's
Description
Nestled in a gas-and-convenience setting, this neighborhood pizza spot draws passionate fans for reliably excellent pies—often credited to a standout pizza maker—alongside gas, donuts and friendly delivery. Yet experiences are mixed: phone and in-person service can be brusque, orders are sometimes incorrect or poorly cooked (burnt or underdone), and custom requests may be refused; missing toppings and condiments have been reported. The time-and-again contrast between great pizza and inconsistent service leaves diners divided.

Most of the time, they mess up my pizza order. The last time, management offered me a free pizza, but when I went to pick it up, I felt like I was being treated like a thief, as if I was trying to steal it. I've been a customer for over 15 years, but now I’ve switched to Pizza Hut. Their pizza might not be as good, but at least I don’t feel like I’m being accused of anything. This is my second review; my first one was never posted, as they seem to only publish positive feedback.
Casey’s offers very good pizza, and their menu also includes gas and donuts. We have never had a bad pizza from Casey’s. The delivery drivers are polite and friendly.
Upon returning home, we discovered that half of the pizzas and the breadsticks were burnt. To make matters worse, the bacon cheeseburger arrived without any bacon, and there were no condiments provided. Given the $80 we spent, we felt more judged than valued, and it seemed like the cashier was more preoccupied with commenting on our order than ensuring the quality of the food he was preparing under harsh fluorescent lighting. Overall, the poor customer service and lack of attention to detail left us feeling like we didn't get our money's worth. Therefore, we’ve decided to take our pizza business to DiMaggio's from now on.
I would have loved to try the ultimate breakfast pizza, but the person on the phone had trouble understanding simple English. They won’t make what you want unless it aligns with their own preferences. Also, I definitely don’t recommend ordering beef or sausage on your pizza, as it will be overloaded and the crust will end up undercooked.
The manager answered the phone, and as I was trying to explain my request, she interrupted me. She kept insisting that they weren't allowed to disclose product prices. I clarified that I wasn't asking about the price; I simply wanted to know if the item was in stock. Within just a few seconds, she informed me that they didn't have it. Normally, I would have given this place a five-star rating!
