The orange/lemon/almond cake is amazing! Highly recommended. Hopefully they will offer ermine frosting in the future as their american buttercream is too sweet and not buttery. View all feedback.
What Mary Spence doesn't like about Classic Cakes:
The cake was beautiful and very presentable, all though I couldn't help but be dissatisfied with the taste of the cake. The consistency of the cake itself was a bit like putty. Don't get me wrong, I love moist cake, but I felt that this was not satisfactory. The icing left a waxy feeling in your mouth, which was uncomfortable at best. I'm going to be honest for a custom cake that I ordered a month in advanced I was v... View all feedback.
We wanted a vintage heart cake that said “just married” for our wedding cake. They spelled married wrong so now we will never be able to post our cake photos. I also thought it could have been more heart shaped than it was. We were offered to get a new cake after our wedding was already over which was not necessary but make sure you spell check your cake before leaving with it!
Classic cake has now been apart of two of the most important moments of our lives: our wedding and a gender reveal cake! The team was quick to respond and even accommodated an early cake pick up for this eager mama with no hesitation. They created exactly what we wanted and not to mention how delicious the cakes are. Can not recommend Classic Cakes enough!
Outstanding birthday cake! The only cake maker we will use in Carmel!
I sent Megan a picture of the wedding cake I wanted. She said she could replicate it, and she did! Not only was it exactly what I wanted, but the cake itself was delicious.
I wanted to like this cake shop as other reviews posted that cupcakes were amazing and they offer a gluten-free version. Walking in, the beautifully decorated cakes line the store window and bakery display case. It’s obvious there are talented people who work and decorate cakes here. Staff was cordial but not overly friendly. However, the cupcake I purchased as a taste test was awful. The frosting was slippery, greasy, shortening-type frosting that slicks the roof of your mouth like a cheap store-bought grocery store cake. I couldn’t get past that feel to adequately judge the cupcake; however not much flavor in the cake. For over $7 for a gluten-free cupcake, I expect way better. If presentation is all that’s important to you, then this place may be for you, But you’d be better off buying a cake from Costco. I’m unsure how this place has so many high reviews; unless it’s because no one wants to pay $18 for a Piece of cake from the cake bake shop.
