Our first experience at Foundry Rd was amazing. The coffee was top-notch and the staff was outstanding. We were even offered a tour of the Roasting area on our next visit. We also purchased some coffee gifts for our family. Special thanks to the staff members Georgia, Amelia, and Rian. We are excited to come back again soon. View all feedback.
What Downsman2000 doesn't like about Coaltown Espresso:
Coffee was excellent, unfortunately the coffee and hazelnut cake was disappointing, no coffee flavouring at all, poor quality synthetic cream, and 4 hazel nuts. Interesting that nothing in this place is priced! May be it is but we’ll hidden. View all feedback.
Wow just discovered Coaltown great staff and fresh food . A must for coffee lovers .very trendy inside and a great vibe .
The aesthectic doesn't appeal to me but does that matter? Not really because the coffee is Amazing and the hot coffee is creamy and delicious. It is a small coffee shop so don't expect seating to always be available. If you want a nice place to sit and drink awesome coffee. I suggest walking the extra mile to the roastry. This coffee shop is great if you are waiting for a bus and need a pick me up or just a warm beaverage on a cold day. I love coaltown coffee but this place and the roastry have 1 glaring problem which stops it from me from rating it 5 star. The place only accepts card. This on its own is not an issue until you have to insert your card. When you insert your card they turn an 10 to 14 inch tablet towards you. The numbers appear on the tablet in a very large font. It is impossible to hide what number you are pressing and makes it very easy for an eagle eyed customer behind you to aquire your pin code. Of course this is not an issue if you pay contactless. I am not sure why they don't use a regular card reader or a chip and pin machine. Everytime I buy from here I always pray I haven't reached my contactless limit to avoid this. It is a real concern of mine which sours the experience but only a little. Still the best coffee brand around though
We happened across this wonderful cafe (far more than a cafe! and were just after a latte. We had the dog, so hubby bought a couple of lattes and came back to the car, raving about how good it was in there. We started to drink and mid sentence, he stops what he’s saying, just to say “Blimey, that’s amazing!” The latte is more like a hot milkshake. It’s smooth and there’s no bitterness. I wound up popping in, to see what the fuss he was making was about. It’s lovely, well furnished and interesting. There are travel mugs, coffee soap, T shirts and a few bits to buy. Also coffee, I am no coffee connoisseur, so when one of the friendly staff asks if I needed any help, I was very happy to accept. Becca, kindly told me which of the coffees was in the lattes we had purchased. Needless to say, one wound up in my handbag! I also ended up taking out two more coffees, whoops!!! Great place, which is worth going out of your way for! We wish we were local, we would go there an awful lot!
An amazing experience with a very social atmosphere. Everytime I walk through the door I am always greeted with open arms from every barista there. Even if you don’t like coffee, they serve amazing tea and a hot chocolate to die for.Ever since I walked through that door around about a year ago, I have challenged my taste in new types of coffee, especially under the countless fantastic suggestions given by the barista Dan, a barista which has now always been linked to the espresso bar in my friends minds. It’s rare to find a place where the music is as good as its coffee.Keep up the good work Coaltown.
Fantastic service. Delicious coffee. Has served me well by fuelling me with caffeine for studying! Good cake!
