What BrianESmith doesn't like about Barnacles Beach Cafe:
We visited this café on a wet and windy day, glad to take shelter and have a snack lunch. There was only one panini left (which was OK) so I had a cheese and bacon turnover. It was just about edible, being very much overcooked. Time didn't permit asking for a replacement so I risked my teeth. A pity, because I would have given another point for the quick and friendly service. View all feedback.
Visited the new restaurant scoops today and was looking forward to a lovely treat. First off the welcome by the gentleman who served us can only be described as he wasn’t bothered about us being there. I ordered a Nutella crepe, on arrival it was placed in a triangle cardboard container. I can only describe it as a thick pancake. I asked the said gentleman if it came with anything as the picture I saw had cream and strawberries. He was quite abrupt in saying well what did you think it came with? And stated they were add ons . The cost of the dessert was £3.79 and on leaving I checked the menu and it should have come with whipped cream. Quite honestly it felt like an inconvenience to him that we were there. I shall not be returning.
Visited the newly refurbished scoops for a beer. Big investment taken place and feel this is going to be a great place. We enjoyed a beer with a view in an amazing location…tea/coffee, desserts galore etc on offer…this is the place to go for the best seat and view in Pendine
Such a lovely spot to sit and watch the beach but whenever we passed it was closed. Seems a terrible shame to me ! It could be so popular.
Lovely looking beach side cafe which sells Costa coffee which our family love. Went in for coffee and cakes to sit outside and watch the world hi round. Well, what a shock. No cakes at all, no lite snacks at all. All coffees were served in paper cups whether you stayed indoors or not. Come on Costa, your coffee shops are usually brilliant but this one was awful. Won't be going there again. Such a shame as it looked great inside and outside. But I don't want a large coffee in a papery cup on your own premises thank you very much. We normally look out for Costa coffee shops but was very disappointed with this one.
Nice food.. Lovely views.. Shame food and coffee served in takeaway containers when eating on the decking, not sure if this would be the same for eating inside.. Run out of most choices on menu, bins overflowing on decking area.. Closes far too early in summer months. Could be great.
