The New Stags Head - Carmarthen

We had made a reservation to celebrate a birthday on New Year's Day, only to arrive and find out that our table had not been reserved for us. Despite our booking, the pub claimed they had not heard from us and we had not decorated the table at 3pm as requested. When we made the reservation, there was no agreed time for decorating the table, we had only asked if it was allowed. This lack of communication and unreliable customer service was extremely disappointing. The pub had not cancelled our booking or attempted to confirm if we still needed the table, instead choosing to ignore it completely. It was even more disappointing that no staff member had cleared the table for us upon arrival. When we requested to speak with the manager, we were told that they were not available. Overall, the service was rated as a 1.

I came here for breakfast and was wowed by the stunning food that was cooked to order. Compliments to the chef. The bar staff were friendly and overall I would give this place a 10 out of 10 - it was amazing and I couldn't find a fault. The food was a 5, the service was a 5, and the atmosphere was a 5.

We just found it by chance , seen they started doing Sunday lunches. Took a chance and went in. We weren't disappointed. The beef dinner was out of this world. Tasty hot and plenty of it. Defo recommend Price per person: £20–30 Food: 5 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4
