Romano Pizzeria - Carlisle

Greatness in a slice!! Honest this place is so good. I’ve eaten pizza at the famous Joe’s NYC and on the Neapolitan Gulf and this place really is up there with the best of them. Pizza by the slice, or full pizzas it is just the best. A must for the pizza lover when in Carlisle!

Every time my family visits Carlisle, we make sure to stop by this restaurant. The staff are wonderful and the pizza is amazing, just like the ones in Rome. They are also the only place in the area that sells Suppli, a Roman style of arancini. Overall, it is a fantastic restaurant.

I went to this restaurant with a group of friends. The food was delicious and well-presented, and the staff were helpful. It was good value for money and everything was very tasty. The only problem was that there was no accessible toilet.

Prior to COVID, I was blessed to travel to many places famed for their pizza New York City, Chicago, Naples. None of them have come close to this small Cumbrian stall tucked away in Carlisle Market. I can honestly say it is by far the best pizza I have ever tried. Freshly made with the finest of ingredients; the flavour, smell and texture are all perfect. Sometimes the stall can get busy, but I guarantee you it is worth the wait. Grab a slice and drink and enjoy people watching it is perfection. My only issue is they have to close! Please please open late so I can get Romano pizza for takeout at night!!!

Even though I live 200 miles away, whenever I visit family in Carlisle, I make sure to stop by this restaurant. We have been coming here for the past 8-10 years and the owner always remembers us. The pizza is amazing and the service is top-notch.
