Contribute FeedbackDespite mixed reviews, the historic train station restaurant boasts a unique atmosphere with excellent architecture. Some found the experience disappointing due to cleanliness issues, while others praised the friendly staff and delicious food. The prices were deemed reasonable, and the real ales were highly recommended. Some customers experienced slow service, but overall, the establishment was seen as a gem worth visiting for its historic charm and comfortable setting to enjoy a meal or drink before catching a train.
Quiet, but friendly. A huge conversion of Carlisle Station former glory with easy access to the platform to London. Look at the bacon roll! Also good beer, Rhubarb was on **** when I was there, but would have made me unable to catch with a train. Opening hours are daytime (at the moment), I will update how and when....
The beer choice very good. It is a bit on the cool side so maybe don't take your coat off. If you are waiting for a train a great choice.
I went to this restaurant for a takeout flat white. The coffee is usually decent, but today the staff seemed to lack any barista skills. The milk was reheated, the group handles were dirty, and the steam wand was cold.
I have frequented this bar numerous times while passing through Carlisle station. I must say, it is one of the best bars I have ever visited. The craft beers, IPAs, and ciders are excellent. The food is also top-notch, although there might be a bit of a wait, usually no more than 10 minutes. The staff here are incredibly friendly and some of the most welcoming individuals I have ever encountered. There have been times when I have missed my connecting train due to delays, but the wonderful staff at 301 are always happy to serve me a drink and have a chat. I highly recommend this bar to anyone.
