I have eaten here twice. The desserts are absolutely exquisite, but not cheap. Presentation is amazing. They have a great variety of macaroons that are perfectly formed and full of flavour, but be prepared to fork out some cash. Each bite sized delight is $3 each. Desserts are around the $8 mark. I would love to be able to afford the high tea, as a tower of these treats would be delish, but it is quite expensive too. View all feedback.
What Jammie Goldner doesn't like about Passiontree Velvet Coolangatta:
High tea here wasn't the most classy of affairs. For one thing, you are sitting in an exposed corridor of Carindale shopping centre. And the service and experience were all just a little disorganized and bumbling. We were told when we arrived and ordered high tea that they would "check to see if there were any high teas left".... what does that even mean? A bit alarming when you are expecting fresh food. The menu says... View all feedback.
I really liked this place. Yes, it's set in the middle of a shopping centre corridor and its not cozy or quaint but the Macaroons were to die for and the scones with jam
The coffee at Passiontree is a beautiful blend. The staff are always friendly and attentive. Coffee is perfect every time! Toasted Sandwiches are also very nice! Love this cafe!
I have been here a few times. My recent visit was with a fellow mum friend and our two babies (6
This cafe is nestled between two large retailers being JB Hi-Fi and Target on Level 1 of the Westfield Carindale. The counter staff was patient and polite, obviously experienced in the fact that people are spoilt for choice - and that it was difficult trying to decide on which delicious pastry/cake to savour. We finally ordered a selection of 4 pastries and 1 macaroon. The 4 cakes we ordered were a chocolate truffle, a strawberry millefeuille, a raspberry chessecake and a greentea chocolate tart. The chocolate truffle was well balanced, not overly sweet, with the sponge layers differentiating through the richness of the chocolate. The strawberry millefeuille was very well layered, and pastry fluffy and crispy - albeit could do with a bit more strawberry cream. The raspberry cheesecake was very unique, in that it had a layer of what appears to be a gelatine raspberry layer - much like a jelly - and that sourness complemented the richness of the cheese. The greentea chocolate tart was perhaps the best of the lot - with the tart's pastry crumbly when eaten/cut, with generous piping of greentea cream and a paste-like filling. The pistachio macaroon was sweet with a very subtle pistachio flavour - with the sugary taste overpowering the pistachio essence.Overall it was a wonderful tasting experience - and certainly look forward to another round of different pastries.

A bit alarming when you are expecting fresh food. The menu says you can order a cold drink instead of hot. But we were told when we ordered "no cold drinks today" due to an accident with the ice bucket. Hmm. Ok. Hot drinks it was. So the high tea tier came out,
