The Old Cottage - Cardiff

This is one of my favorite pubs to go to regularly. The food is consistently delicious, I have never had a bad meal here. The service is attentive without being overbearing. The facilities are great, especially if you have a dog as the bar area is very comfortable. I highly recommend this place.

An absolutely fabulous lunch. The staff were all so friendly and attentive. The veggie burger was excellent....thank you for a wonderful meal. The building is currently covered in scaffolding and I was told that they are closing for a couple of weeks for refurbishment. I look forward to returning once the work is finished

Lovely little place, staff were very friendly and the food was absolutely beautiful! We will be back!

Lovely lunch. I have reduced the points because of the ladies toilets. The door opens inwards and then it’s a struggle to get past the paper dispenser. I have never encountered that before. Toilets look a bit tired too.

A family member made a reservation for us a few months in advance at this restaurant. One member of our party is gluten-free/vegetarian. We were told that both the regular menu and the Father's Day 3-course meal would be available, but this was not the case. There was no gluten-free bread and only one vegetarian starter. We had to ask for something to be specially made for them. Additionally, there were no scallops left for starters, so we had to choose different options. The main dishes were served lukewarm and some sides were forgotten and brought out after we had finished our meal. We were left without drinks for a long time in a hot restaurant. The Espresso Martinis were served in whiskey glasses and our desserts sat in front of us getting cold as we waited for spoons. Throughout the meal, we noticed staff standing around or chatting while customers waited. The bill was incorrect and had to be adjusted. Overall, we spent £400 at the restaurant but were disappointed and would not return.
