Was Jdavies197311 at Ffresh a mag?
Had a lovely meal here the other night. Food was flavoursome and presented well. Waited a while for drinks but nothing really to complain about. Hadn’t been here before but would come again. View all feedback.
What Peter M dislikes about Ffresh:
Booked for a pre-theatre 2 course dinner. Not impressed, no bread offered. Had Calimari to start, what arrived did not look like Calimari as it was ball shaped and had no taste of Squid. Had Salmon for main, Salmon was OK if a bit on the small side, the Potato Cake it sat on was basically bubble squeak and more green beans than an average person could eat. Also, the layout has changed so that you now eat in what was... View all feedback.

A very good restaurant near the Cardiff waterfront I was visiting for two days and went here for dinner with three friends.
Note: this review is about the Ffresh restaurant - which has an accompanying lounge bar (which some of the other reviews here refer to.)
Situated at the ground floor of the Wales Millennium Centre, this cafe is f'ing fresh actually no that just it's name Ffresh Cafe.
4 mar 2020 I don't know how their normal menu is how I went for the final cut interactive dining experience 4. mar, which cost £19.50 tickets, but the full price was £45. this was booked in advance with the millenium centre. we were served a 3 cursor meal that was preset. the starter was a kind of hearty samolina porridge, a main when grilled flower cauliflower on a bed of couscous and a dessert of mango cheesecake with chocolate flakes. the food was very tasteful, but needs work on the amount and the eating groups to compensate. the main meal had no protein source and felt like another starter, as it did not fill. it was great to be an extra in the interactive experience with a story that we were part of a mordgeheimnisse. it was a unique experience that I would recommend with a friend or family. but did not feel the full price worth it. we sat with other people, but the crew was flexible to rethink, sit with friends we didn't book with.

We visited last Thursday lunch time for a meal before the matinee show. Me and my husband had never eaten here before, it was recommended to us by my husband's sister who was also with us on Thursday. I had booked on-line the previous meeting,(which was very easy to do) we had to wait a couple of minutes to be seated, and then again for our waiter to take our drinks order. However they were very busy. The menu is a little limited. We all ordered the Breast of Chicken, which when served was cooked to perfection, it was accompanied by a Potato Cake, Green Beans and Veal Jus. It was well presented and delicious. For desert I ordered Cheesecake and my sister-in-law had Mango Cake, both served with ice cream, again delicious. The service of food was excellent. The restaurant is situated in the foyer of the Wales Millennium Centre so it's really convenient to eat here before a show. We will definitely visit again.

We visited for a pre theatre meal early evening. We have been to Ffresh several times before and enjoyed the food and service. On this occasion, we found that all diners were closeted in the small bar area making it rather noisy and cramped. We found that the menu is no longer fixed price but a limited selection of starters and mains. The quality of the food was disappointing. My salmon fishcake was stodgy and lacking in flavour. Two of the main courses have the same accompaniment: green beans (fine) and potato cake (again, lacked flavour, and had the feel that it had been sitting around for quite a while. My chicken was a generous portion but given that it was breast, it was not particularly tender. My partner's fish (pollock) was again rather flavourless in a parsley sauce. Given the price of these mains (in region of £14), this is overpriced. There are many restaurants in the immediate vicinity that will provide a more relaxed dining experience and better food. I felt for the serving staff. They seemed very busy and did their best, but we were waiting quite a long time for our main course. We won't be visiting again it's a shame because we really enjoyed Ffresh as it was before.
This is the first time we have eaten in Ffresh where we decided to treat ourselves prior to seeing Six. We prebooked and received a great welcome from the staff. Its probably fair to say that the menu is limited but the food was well prepared, cooked and presented. We had the fish and the chicken for mains after brie and apricot starters. As I was driving I would have liked a non-alcholic beer and there are some decent ones around these days. We did not feel rushed and thoroughly enjoyed the experience of good food and a great show.
Now onto the negative experiences. The initial welcome from staff upon entering the room was unwelcoming and almost hostile. The back area had filthy flooring with dirt and rubbish scattered around, despite us being among the first to arrive. Some furniture was in poor condition, with a broken sofa leg and wobbly stools. The sofa issue was eventually addressed after numerous requests. The ladies' toilets became partially blocked during the evening, causing inconvenience for guests who had to find alternative facilities. Despite several complaints, it took a while for staff to address the issue. The bar service was disappointing, with three visibly unhappy bar staff attempting to serve a large number of guests. There were instances where guests, including myself, had to wait up to 30 minutes to be served. The inconsistency in pricing at the bar was also concerning, with prices fluctuating throughout the night. It was observed that bar staff frequently left to collect clean glasses or more alcohol, causing further delays in service. There was also a peculiar setup at the till end, where bar staff would prioritize serving customers closest to the till after receiving payment. Overall, the experience at Ffresh was mixed with highlights like good food and entertainment, but marred by issues such as poor welcoming, cleanliness, furniture condition, bathroom maintenance, and bar service.

My friend and I visited this restaurant yesterday before the show "Wicked," and we weren't sure what to expect. We had a prepaid menu voucher, and I was truly impressed. The waitress was incredibly helpful, and nothing was too much trouble for her. The food was outstanding! I highly recommend this place!
We enjoyed a set of three course menu . The salmon tartare was good . The lamb dish was amazing . The raspberry brûlée was succulent . My hubby had the blue cheese salad for starter . The fish was abit dull in taste . The gnocchis had too much peas . The almond and apple cake were okay . The portion are generous though and friendly staff . Service was good .
Tonight we ate at Ffresh with their new menu. It was basically an assortment of small plates chosen from a book that would have rivalled War and Peace. There were just too many pages to go through, taster menu, fish, meat. Vegetarian, vegan. All we wanted was a starter and a main course not bits and bobs. This was more like a tapas menu not what we want when we go to a restaurant. Normally we eat there a lot but we wont be dining there again until they have an al a carte menu back in place. Service wasn’t great with a waiter trying to clear away our used plates while we were still eating I literally had to stop him taking the one plate that still had half a flatbread on it. We usually love the food there so we were seriously disappointed tonight.
I attended an evening meal club featuring three amazing singers performing songs from musicals. We were welcomed with an aperitif upon arrival and enjoyed a meal during the intermission, followed by more songs and a cocktail in the final break. It was a fantastic night!

Had a fantastic meal at this lovely restaurant, can't fault the food or the staff.Definitely worth visiting.
We booked for a late pre-theatre dinner for four were treated to an excellent meal chosen from the fixed-price menu. The staff were very considerate...
My first visit to Cardiff Bay was quite an experience—impressive yet a bit unusual. The historic Butetown area features some truly remarkable Victorian architecture that has withstood the test of time...
The food was quite ordinary, and I had hoped for a delightful pre-show experience, but I must admit I was disappointed. Even though it was just a bar meal, I expected more.
