Description

The restaurant offers great value for money with Living Social deals for afternoon tea and set menus. Food is well-presented, delicious, and enjoyable – especially the finger sandwiches, scones, and Prosecco. The historic backdrop of the castle adds to the experience. Service is attentive and professional, making it a pleasant visit overall. However, some customers found the limited menu due to Covid restrictions disappointing. Overall, a recommended spot for a special occasion or relaxing meal with good deals available.

Me and the wife had a voucher for a 3 course meal there. Got to say that the menu choice was great plenty of choices, all courses was presented well, really tasty, and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Staff was great and very polite. We would recommend a visit for a special occasion. We would return, even without the voucher.

A good place to visit. One of the fortified tunnels takes you back to WW2. Parts of the complex were used as an air raid shelter. The sounds of bombing plus the signage, bunks and other memorabilia all do a good job of taking you back in time. The history before WW2 is of course extensive. There are info points around the grounds so that you can soak up some detail at your leisure. We spent an hour or so strolling around the site. When you're done with that, there's also a military museum. It'

This castle did not disappoint. There’s an app you can download for a self-guided tour, which I highly recommend. We didn’t pay for the extra tour that takes you through more upper rooms in the castle, but the rooms we did go through ourselves were extraordinary in their opulent detail. Such creativity and extravagance! There was something unique to see everywhere you looked. We also enjoyed learning about the role the castle played as an air raid shelter during WWI. There were also great views
