The service at this restaurant is extremely poor. Despite claiming to be open, there is no service whatsoever. If I didn't have to wait for a room that I couldn't cancel, I would not choose to stay or dine here. The new server also seems to be following the same lackluster approach. Located inside the Future Inn, Thomas is a modern British/Welsh restaurant that focuses on using locally sourced ingredients. The atmosphere is relaxed and informal, making it convenient for guests who prefer not to dress up while dining at the hotel. The decor is modern and minimalist, with a lot of light wood elements on display. I tried the Welsh grill, which I now affectionately refer to as "the meat mound...plus an egg." It was quite a meat-heavy dish, but the quality justified the slightly higher price. The staff were friendly and laid-back, creating a comfortable and enjoyable dining experience. It seems that the restaurant may not attract many visitors unless they are staying at the hotel or driving by, which is a shame. However, it's definitely worth a try if you don't mind the view of surrounding buildings outside.
