What Egidio Bellini doesn't like about La Tavernetta Al Castello Di Spessa:
Went there with my family, we had a table of seven. Unfortunately the waiters were a bit inattentive when it came to take the order, serving drinks or bringing the cutlery (they even took away my knife and forgot to replace it with a fish-knife). The dishes were average. I had a six-course seafood menu. The fish-tartare was ok, followed by the most uninspired scallops I have ever seen eaten. Really nothing outstandin... View all feedback.
This is a very attractive restaurant situated on the castello di spessa estate beside the golf course. There are several dining areas. One is light and bright and overlooks the course. Another, in which we ate, is rustic with a lovely warm atmosphere. The menu is very interesting which made decision making rather difficult. We were welcomed with a glass of sparkling wine and a small surprise from the kitchen Then, with the help of a very agreeable waiter we chose (although my husband is still not totally sure what he ate I think one was fried thyroid gland and the other beef neck? but both deliciious. I started with wild asparagus in a lovely buttery sauce followed by lamb as soft as butter and beautifully tasty served with green asparagus. There was not a huge choice of deserts but those that were offered were lovely and very attractively presented. We were intrigued by the other beautiful dishes that were constantly passing by and sorry we did not have time for a more leisurely meal. If I had one comment to make it is that it would have been nice if the menu had been available in English for all the non Italian and German speakers, it would also make the waiters' job easier! Altogether the experience has made us look forward to another visit to this estate.

Dinner with family, very disappointing... Wife and children had one dish of basic pasta with tomato sauce, so that could hardly go wrong. I had a tiny portion of boring ravioli as a starter, followed by lamb loin, which was raw and ugly smelling when I got it first! When complaining, the waitress took it away, telling me, they would cook it a bit more for me! When she returned, it was obviously they had thrown the whole portion back in the pan, cooked it a little more and served it again! It wasn't raw anymore, but still smelling unpleasant, so I refused to eat it at all... They didn't seem to care and took it away. We asked for the bill, and were told they wouldn't charge us for the lamb, but we paid 75 Euros for 3 very basic pastas, 1 tea, 1 glass of wine, 1 bottle of water and 2 beverages...
Grazie ancora.
