Avenue Cafe - Capitola
Avenue Cafe
Description
Avenue Cafe charms with classic breakfast and diner fare—fresh, well-seasoned plates like Eggs Benedict, Huevos Rancheros and Chicken Fried Steak draw regulars. Portions can feel modest, but prices are reasonable and a tofu substitute makes vegetarian choices easy. The tiny, cute space—about 7–8 tables—with cozy indoor/outdoor seating and attentive, friendly staff creates a warm, sometimes funky vibe. Street parking is limited (paid lots and beach-access parking nearby), and the cafe is occasionally closed on odd days, but the quality and atmosphere keep patrons returning.

Cute, local place but the food taste was meh. And it's located so close to the roadway it's not as relaxing as it
The atmosphere was delightful, and the food was excellent. I enjoyed the Huevos Rancheros, which was fantastic. The staff was very friendly, and the overall vibe was incredibly cozy.
Yummy food, cute restaurant and attentive staff, will definitely be coming back. I had the Carnitas egg Benedict and it was delicious, I ate every bite on my plate! Parking: There's free street parking but we had to go a little ways down the street that's across from the restaurant to find a spot. There's plenty of paid parking in the lot across the street but either of those is still a couple minutes walk. There are street parking spots right in front of the restaurant but they are usually taken, probably because of the proximity to capitola village.
Our server was sandy. And she was fabulous. The food was outstanding and I will definitely be back.
