Sonnekus Boutique Bistro - Cape Town

Sonnekus was so beautifully renovated. the rooms are large and spacious. finished are well thought out and the SMEG accessory in the room is top notch. the room has a light and airy feeling with a real homeliness friendliness to complete it. the café menu offers everything from superfood smoothies, French toast and the good old English breakfast. a must.

What a pleasure in the cafe for breakfast. The steam punk coffee machine started immediately to my eye, with a selection of cakes and cookies that all looked delicious. We decided to sit inside and had a view of the garden and the sea over the street. The staff was friendly and the owners came by to welcome us. A wide selection of warm and cold options. It was the croissant with scrambled eggs for me and a eggs Benedict for my partner and our friend. The croissant was buttery with the flockiness of freshness. We all enjoyed breakfast, served by efficient and friendly staff and we were pleased to have the opportunity to chat with the owners.

I am a St James local and I love this place so much! The food is really delicious and good inexpensive (best smoothie bowls on the whole main strip) and the coffee is great. It is also a nice place to sit and work. The staff is brilliant (shot it to Phin) and the mood is just great. Really happy St James has a new place to check!

Excellent service. It was my birthday and the waiters went out of the way to make it very special. You're so friendly and polite. Nothing was too much trouble. The carrot cake is divine as the crunch biscuits. I was so impressed. Hardly noticed the busy road. It was not over so that the rooms could not be rated. Hold the standard. I'll be back a lot.

We enjoyed every minute at Sonnekus 3 days just wasn't enough. Everything was perfect, the setting, rooms, service and the classic coffee machine. They even provide treats for doggies. Hope to be back soon.
