When we arrived we were assigned a table inside... read more Myself and my partner went to Voro for dinner on Friday, the ambiance was impressive but also felt very chilled. When we arrived we were assigned a table inside, my partner remarked that we would like to dine on the terrace, so we were told that it would be better inside as the weather would be too hot outside, so we are inside stayed although in the course of the evening guests were also allowed to sit outside, we could have been told that everything outside was occupied and not look for excuses! When pouring the wine, the sommelier had a mishap, he spilled it on the tablecloth, that can happen, but I don't think this should happen in a 2-star posh restaurant, after all, this dirty tablecloth accompanied us the whole evening! When the meal finally started, I was horrified to discover that all the small courses of fish or seafood contained a horrible taste and smell of spoiled fish and much was still very raw, I couldn't enjoy the menu let alone eat it. This stinky smell permeated the whole evening! Haven't eaten so bad in a long time! Once and never again in Voro !!!

We have dined at many high end restaurants around the world, but this one left us disappointed, some of the dishes were excellent, but overall the impression is one of Instagram food, looks fantastic, but bland to taste. As to the wines, it is commendable to source local products produced in small batches, but if you are going to charge top class prices you need to serve top class wines, and frankly some of them were not good. We could have flown to London and back and eaten at vastly superior restaurants for the price they are charging, and with the benefit of hindsight I wish we had!

Excellent service from our waiter and the sommelier all evening. It was definitely the highlight of our holidays. Highly recommended.
