After reading other reviews we were sure this was going to be good. we arrived at 8pm the earliest you can eat for dinner. we were the only customers all night.... read more After reading other reviews we were sure this was going to be good. we arrived at 8pm the earliest you can eat for dinner. we were the only customers all night. maybe this is an indication that they are slipping. after being presented menus and being alone in a giant banquet hall like dining room, we were left alone 20 minutes. considered leaving,and maybe we should have. the food was so so. service was non existent despite being the only customers all evening. when we asked for the check no one ever came to collect it so again we were left waiting and finally took the money to the counter to pay. this is really horrible customer service at high prices. in the area if you are looking for better seafood options, choose instead Bafardello or Celine in Lucca or Lombardi in Viareggio. This was a disappointment.

Get there and not... read more Today was special: happening upon this magnificent restaurant. Hot day, travelling to new places in Lucca area thought we 'd go to Capannori. Get there and not too much to see or do. Except, we were hungry. NOt wanting to eat at the kabab shop only one open we kept on walking the 'main ' street and stumbled upon. Forino. Having no idea what to expect and feeling as though we were the only people in the town, inside was divine...filled, not over filled, with people enjoying their lunch. We were the most under dressed, but that did not turn any heads. We were welcomed, seated and browsing menus before we knew it. My travelling friends all had tortelli with beef ragu...to die for. And I had spaghetti al mare! It was the best seafood pasta I have ever had. So much fresh seafood...I could still taste the seawater! Stunning surprise on a hot day. Not too many tourists nkow about this gem...Michelin recommended as well. Super FIND!
