12/17/2021 Having buyer 's remorse. My boneless chicken quarter was dryer than week old, West Texas roadkill. I 'm not a quitter, so I chopped it up and smothered it with Sweet Baby Ray 's sauce. I added your onions and crumbled corn muffin into the bland beans while tossing the pickles into the slaw to jazz the tasteless sides. Your sausage link tasted like a grainy hotdog. I did like the wet brisket. Only reason we tried you out was because others have raved about your tamales. My bad, because no one mentioned BBQ. Took a shot and dropped the hammer on a dud. Makes me glad I didn 't let you automatically help yourself to a tip.Live and learn.

I feel really lucky that my toddler loves food so much. We can being her somewhere new and she 'll both try new foods and generally eat most of them. At Bow Hunters she tried something for the first time that I think is one of her FAVORITE things ever! The flavor was crisp, texture was good and all too soon it was all gone. Yep, she sure loved that bag of Doritos. She 'll be looking for more of those for a long time to come. The BBQ was mostly terrible with the sausage being the 'highlight ' at a passable 6/10. Brisket was edible, just about. Turkey though was horrendous, pretty much inedible. It had little flavor and the texture was about the worst I 've ever tasted. It 's like someone was following a recipe and misread 'smoke ' with 'boil '. Truly terrible. Even the slightest bit of seasoning would have made a difference. The sides on the whole were even worse; Mac cheese meh Green beans bacon straight from a can. Devoid of flavor, texture and seasoning. Microwaved fresh though Corn the best of the bunch. 3/10 Coleslaw this is not a hard dish to get wrong and this one was butchered. One of the worst dishes I 've ever ordered. My Doritos powered toddler could do it better. Save yourself a trip, go to the deli counter in the grocery store across the road. Anything from there would be better than Bow Hunters BBQ
Wanted to try tamales so did. I hate doing reviews they can be so unsure or unfaif, but I was not pleased. Maza was near raw and sticky and pork not much flavor. The bean jalapeno were good except the maza. Tried baking bean jalapeno it helped some. In all respect i will return to try other food. The truth is new branfels and canyon lake just don't offer this or fair Mexican food as does san Antonio..
