Charcoal is easily the best or one of the best Korean BBQ in SCV. Great menu and a clean restaurant. Their service is spectacular with everything timely and attentive waitresses but not annoyingly so. Their pan jan was great, their meats are well-seasoned and marinated. We get the all-you-can eat when we go so I’m not sure about the broader menu. However, they have a happy hour price for the all you can eat, which do... View all feedback.
What Sivo S doesn't like about Charcoal Korean Bbq:
I can't believe I'm leaving a 1 star for an establishment that I previously enjoyed coming to. I truly liked this place and brought a lot of my family members. We showed up with a party of 11 and they chose to give 1 out of their 3 large tables for a family of 5 (3 of which were kids). I don't think they enforce their rules properly and definitely don't know how to manage their business. They lost a large sum today b... View all feedback.
In my opinion, the quality of the food at this restaurant is outstanding. Everything we ordered was fresh, especially the meat, which had fantastic flavor even without any extra sauce or seasoning. The portion sizes are generous, so be sure to bring more than two people unless you have a big appetite! The service was impressively fast; we expected to wait, but we were seated right away. Shortly after, two servers approached us for our order, and our food arrived quickly, which was great since we were very hungry! The ambiance inside is lovely, with dim lighting that sets a nice mood for dates. There are TVs for sports viewing and charming Christmas lights that create a cozy feel. They even celebrate birthdays! Overall, I left feeling satisfied and happy, and I can't wait to come back and try more dishes next time.
Wow, we haven't visited this place in a while, and it was just as great as we remembered—if not even better! Yetti and the team are fantastic; not only is the service top-notch, but the food is absolutely incredible, with every dish bursting with flavor. I enjoy watching everyone around me savor their meals. A huge thank you to Yetti! I'll definitely be back for my Soju!
My entire family really enjoyed this restaurant. The thinly sliced options are slightly thicker, which enhances the flavor. They offer a great variety of side dishes, all of which are delicious. Their soup is absolutely amazing. We also appreciated that all the dishes are made of metal, as they keep the food warmer and are easier to clean and disinfect. Unlike a few other places we've been to recently, they regularly replace the cooking surface, so you don’t have to deal with any burnt taste. This restaurant has taken the top spot for us, surpassing our previous favorites in the SCV.
Captivated by the enticing aromas from the local food menu, my husband and I decided to explore this establishment. Upon our arrival on a lively Saturday night, a brief wait, although slightly noticeable, didn't diminish our anticipation. While the ambiance was vibrant, we encountered a minor challenge with service; we had to raise our voices a tad more than usual to secure some extras alongside our meal. Nevertheless, the restaurant's simple yet tasteful décor provided a comfortable dining ambiance. We both opted for the all-you-can-eat meal, primarily due to my husband's preference. Although this discouraged sharing, it allowed us to sample various dishes. My husband chose the cajun pork belly and beef brisket, while I chose the cajun chicken. However, our additional orders of gyoza and a house salad didn't leave a lasting impression and might not be on our reorder list. While my husband savored all the meats, I particularly enjoyed the distinct flavor of the cajun chicken. Despite some dishes lacking taste, they paired well with the ginger soy dipping sauce and a small serving of white rice. The unnamed array of sides that accompanied the main dishes was noteworthy. From the Korean veggie pancakes to the purple rash and pasta salad, each dish was delectable and had us going for seconds. The glass rice goods and kimchi were equally flavorful, complementing the main courses perfectly. There was no dessert; instead, we opted for some strawberry soju, an alcoholic drink possibly inspired by a famous song. While enjoyable, my husband and I agreed that we still favored the plum flavor from other Korean restaurants in town. The restaurant concluded our meal by offering us complimentary servings of sujeonggwa, a cold cinnamon-ginger sweet tea known in Korean cuisine for aiding digestion. My husband immensely enjoyed it, finding it delightful. On the other hand, while I didn't particularly favor it, I found its taste akin to liquidized hot tamales candies. Though it wasn't my favorite drink, we still appreciated the little treat. Overall, our experience was delightful. The cuisine was enjoyable, and the wait staff were accommodating and attentive. The prices are slightly higher, so while it might not become our regular spot, it's certainly an ideal choice for a memorable date night.
Food was great! I love Korean bbq and this place tops my list.. you have to go and try this..
