Mai Place. Why does it always seem like a great Chinese restaurant deteriorates over time? This has happened repeatedly, but I really thought you would be the exception, our go-to spot for Chinese food. What happened? Did ownership change? What was once the best Chinese food has now forced us to seek out a new place. Our last few meals were disappointing—poor quality, bland, and nothing like the dishes we once adored. The chicken chow mein was so watery that I thought I was served soup instead. The chicken wings were rubbery and tasted old. The beef in our beef and broccoli was rare and lacked any flavor. I could elaborate, but I think I've made my point. It’s a very sad day.

I would rate this restaurant 4.5 stars, but I'm being a bit generous due to the impact of COVID. My family and I have been regulars at Mai Pearl for years, but since their move, this location is more convenient for us and offers a similar dining experience. Regarding the mixed reviews, I think many people are focusing on the service and portion sizes relative to the prices. When we visited, the service was quite good. As for the portion sizes, they might be on the smaller side for the price, but the quality of the food is top-notch for Chinese cuisine and suburban sushi. Overall, I still believe it offers good value. We ordered chicken teriyaki, which came in a generous portion for the price, although there were only four pieces, and they were cooked to perfection. The rest of our meal consisted of sushi, which was very fresh and well-prepared. I particularly enjoyed the dragon ball, which was drizzled with a delicious sweet and spicy sauce.

Fresh! The sushi is delicious and incredibly fresh. The interior is very clean, picturesque, and inviting. Overall, it's a fantastic place to enjoy a meal or get takeout.

I used to frequent this place years ago when my mother lived down the street. Today the boneless spareribs were so dried up they were inedible. I usually only order spareribs on the bone but I did not see that on the menu. The moo shu pork was ok. Open for take-out only Maybe I did not order the right items but I will not be back.

This place is back and reopen today August 22nd. But I believe their hours have changed. I am craving for their crab Rangoon....they have the best in town.....
