A twist on the English breakfast with merguez sausages, chorizo morcilla on the menu.I sat on a stool at the bar watched my morcilla, bubble squeak poached egg cooked in front of me.If my hunger hadn't been satisfied by my late breakfast/bruch I would've hung around to try some of the dishes from their lunch menu soak up more of the rustic , bustling but easy going atmosphere of the Goods Shed.I'll save that for anot... What Mamabear1000 doesn't like about Wild Goose:
Sorry, but after a very long wait, you can’t charge £8.00 for a very average BLT and serve a thimble of warm coffee 20 minutes before the BLT arrives. It’s just not on, The 1 star is for the venue which is lovely and the lady who did apologise for the wait, but we left disappointed and feeling a little bit ripped off to be honest. We had a lovely family breakfast this morning at the Wild Goose in the Goods Shed in Canterbury, the lady made us all a fab breakfast, it was really good! She made my daughter exactly what she wanted even though that wasn’t on the menu! Really excellent place! Food,ambience and Coffee was amazing thank you.
It was my second visit down to Canterbury as my brother is at university there.No doubt about it the ingredients used are homegrown. When ordering food, staff were so knowledgable about the five dishes we ordered between us three.Later wow the cheese board and drinks.Please go!!
Both my son and I love this place and the atmosphere. So good we came back for breakfast 3 times in a row.
We have eaten at the Goods Shed restaurant before but decided to try the Wild Goose as wanted a lighter meal before the theatre. We were not disappointed! Lovely people serving larger than normal tasty tapas with a great choice of drinks too.
I had another brilliant meal here today. Fresh original cocktails, tasty sharing plates and lovely service. The food is fresh, locally sourced and delicious. The specials have never disappointed either. Today was hake with fried samphire and the other we had was belly pork. Fabulous!!!
