Star Of Bengal - Canterbury

On arrival at our apartment close by, we were met by this wonderful aroma of indian food. It made us want to try out this restaurant. We arrived around 6pm on Friday 6th September 2024 when it was initially quiet. We ordered our food which was above our expectations. The service was outstanding, particularly from the Manager and Aziz. They work so hard in what became a very busy evening in there. We didn't feel rushed, we will definitely be back to this lovely restaurant which is very reasonably priced and well run. It's a must visit in our view and thanks for the nice little touches of a free drink and little chocolates.

Came in here as read the reviews and when we walked by it was busy. Glad we did, packed out and the atmosphere was very good, families and couples mainly. Service was very good as was the quality and taste of the food, piping hot and plenty of flavour. Would definitely recommend.

We saw the poster advertising the Sunday deal. This was a starter, main, side, rice and bread for under £15. We did check the deal was on as it was the bank holiday weekend. The restaurant was packed. This offer seemed too good to be true! The menu had great variety including a number of fish dishes that you don’t always see. We checked if we could order anything from the menu and use the offer. Food was great and enjoyed by all. When the bill came it was the normal prices and so significantly more than expected. We did query this and asked again about the deal and the bill was changed. It was great food and we would recommend but advertising this deal and then not charging in line with this offer meant it felt awkward to query. They could offer a Sunday buffet with reduced number of dishes for £15 and I’m sure customers would be happy.

Myself and my friend (he lives with Dementia) had a lovely meal here this evening. Staff were very attentive and food was lovely. We will definitely return.

Very friendly staff and overall an amazing curry experience, with dishes we haven't heard of. We eat curry everywhere we go and would recommend this place.
