This café is perfect for hikers, is pet-friendly, and has friendly and helpful staff. It may not cater to those expecting a high-priced dining experience like the establishments in town featured in fiction books set in Whitstable. The food is made to order and portions are generous. The patrons tend to be older but friendly, creating a pleasant atmosphere. Sitting on the cliff top in the summer and enjoying the view... View all feedback.
What Madison E doesn't like about Seaview Cafe:
Ridiculous prices, went for ice cream and came to £9 would definitely recommend scoops for anyone looking for icecrem that isn’t over priced!!! They charged us £2.80 for a kids ice cream absolutely ridiculous would not recommend View all feedback.
We went along to this cafe this morning....we sat down in a cramped area of 5 tables .. the rest of the tables were outside.but being windy we opted for inside there were 2 woman preparing food in the kitchen and a guy wondering about picking up used customet plates after about 5 minutes we all thought mmmm no table service ?? So we went to the counter and ordered the food ... 3 minutes later the owner came in and took another couple 's order who had just walked in !!!! ... she must have heard the coments our friend said about the service.... the food we ordered arrived .. .not a lot on the plate for the amount of 's we spent there.. but it was ok and doorstep bread slices smothered in butter ....ok the service and the size of the meals only get 3 star ... which could have been a 4 or 5 if it had not for the small portions and poor service
I recently enjoyed a delicious English breakfast, which I would give a perfect 10 out of 10 rating. It was reasonably priced and offered a fantastic view. The meal also came with coffee and thick toast.
I have visited this restaurant for the past two Sundays and it is a wonderful place to enjoy a delicious breakfast. The staff is very helpful and hardworking. I am looking forward to returning soon.
We've known this cafe for years as family have lived ved here for a very long time and we visited often over many times. A trip with our dog bought us back here for lunch as so many places are expensive (albeit through no fault of their own) and we promised ourselves we would return to see if it is still as good value as it used to be. A beautiful bacon and egg sandwich (with rustic thickly sliced bread)and cheesy chips, 2 teas and all less than half price for one meal at other places. We're pleased that this little place survived covid and the latest cost of living crisis! No thrills but polite and helpful staff and fantastic views. Dog friendly is a bonus for our boy and all our 4 legged friends that walk along these shores. Long may you continue to serve Tankerton and see you again very soon
Regularly visit this cafe that we call the black and white cafe on Tankerton slopes! We travel here for breakfast and we would rather come here than anywhere else and if we do go anywhere else we say we wish we had gone to the black and white cafe! The breakfast is first class, ample, fresh, free range eggs, grilled bacon, no fat on the plate, they serve black pudding too! The set breakfasts come with a plate full of hot buttered toast, from freshly cut bread. If you order a sandwich here you best be hungry! The cafe has sweet little old ladies from nearby care homes having tea, lots of local people who come regularly, lots of people like us Who travel to come to the cafe, and on rainy daye any builders working nearby take refuge and have a hearty breakfast. Very friendly place and has lovely views over the sea and beach huts. And well behaved dogs are welcome too, couldn't get better? Yes! Its clean, spotless, and they also sell icecream.
