Contribute Feedback What Isle o Wighty likes about Bell Crown:
The restaurant was welcoming and bustling when we visited on a rainy Saturday evening. It seemed to cater more to locals rather than tourists. The selection of drinks was good and the prices were typical for Canterbury. If I were a resident of Canterbury, I can see myself frequenting this pub often. View all feedback.
What MATTEO A doesn't like about Bell Crown:
We have ordered a pork pie and a scotch egg and they arrived fridge cold. The pork pie looked like a brick and the egg looked pail inside. Since the food wasn't edible, we asked to microwave it and they refused saying that they should be served as they are. We left 1/5 rating only because it's not possible to put 0 rating. Unacceptable! Top traditional pub in Canterbury. Warm welcome from the staff. The fire was on adding to the atmosphere. Prices are very good for a city pub.
Came across this pub when we were walking into Canterbury, popped into this very traditional pub for a drink, when we saw the meals coming out we decided to have some lunch. Not a huge lunchtime menu but every dish sounded lovely. We ordered a Brie and grape baguette and a hot sausage roll both coming with chutney and salad. It was delicious, we will certainly visit again next time we are in Canterbury

A lovely ploughmans lunch in here earlier this afternoon. The guy behind the bar was very friendly. The pub itself is clean and welcomming.
Although the pub has claimed to be dog-friendly, they are NOT. Dogs are only allowed outside unless you are friends with the bar staff. I came with my small, quiet dog who sleeps in my lap and was told I to remove her despite the place being advertised as dog-friendly. Better to go to the Dolphin just around the corner which is extremely welcoming to dogs. If you're looking for the bar dive vibe, then Canterbury Tales just down the block is also a better choice--very dog friendly and the pub owner staff are also great with customers.
